I wave my hand, causing papers on my desk to float up into the air. I used to do cooler stuff with my telekinesis, but it's gotten less and less interesting to me. Can you imagine? Someone being bored with some "special power" seems like it doesn't happen. Well, it does. I'm not special for having telekinesis. I'm sure that there are lots of others that have it, I just haven't found them. They're probably better at it than me. They can probably do something important with it.
The only real use for telekinesis is party tricks and mundane tasks I'm too lazy to do. Sure, using it for mundane tasks is pretty useful, but it still is quite boring. Party tricks? People get bored of it after seeing me float something once or twice. Plus, I can only do this stuff so much. Using my power is draining depending on the mass of the object I'm flouting.
Not many people find telekinesis interesting long after elementary school. The kids at school used to crowd around me on the playground as I make rocks and sticks float around. They would "oooooo" and "aaahhhhh" every single time I would do it. I felt validated then. Now, they're bored of it. So am I.
Constant boredom is what I've been lead to. Is boredom my fate?
I float more papers into the air. I do that a lot when I'm bored, which is all the time. Making things float is a good way to waste time.
After hours upon hours of making things float, I am forced to go somewhere with my family. I stare out the window as we go down a stretch of highway. I wonder how many people out there are like me. It'd be nice to meet them if they do exist.
Soon, we arrived a park. I had a strange feeling. I tried to shake the feeling but it just wouldn't go away. It's making me anxious. Something is going to happen. It might not be good.
Turns out, the feeling wasn't right. I was being cornered by a strange woman. He seemed to give off an aura of extreme power. He was like me.
He used his power to pin me against a wall. I tried to overpower him and free myself. It didn't work. Instead, I knocked him off his feet, causing him to lose focus on me. I was freed from his grip. Taking the opportunity, I forced him onto the ground and ran away. Hopefully he won't come back for me. Why did he attack me anyway? The man comes into view. He's not alone. There are four people by his side. I'm not going to be able to get out this.
I try to use my power to knock them to the ground. I only knock down one person. The group then starts to approach me.
"What do you want?" I feel even more pressure.
"What do you want, you say." The man laughs an evil laugh. "We want you, of course."
"Why would you want me?"
"You're like us. You're special. You're powerful. We want to use that power."
"You're not using any of my power."
The man and his group laughs. "What makes you think that?"
"The fact that I'm not going to do anything that I don't want to."
This makes them laugh even harder. "You're going to comply, or else those you care about are going to get hurt!"
I stay quiet at this. I don't want to go with them. They seem like bad people.
Suddenly, a girl around my age drop kicks them. Their focus is turned to getting up from the ground. I'm freed.
"Need help?" The girl offers me a hand. I take it. She helps me up
"Thanks." I say, brushing dirt off on my pants.
"It's no problem. I saw some weird stuff happening and I had to check it out. You looked like you needed help so I helped."

"What do you mean by that?"
"Do you have weird powers?"
"Oh." She hesitated. "Yes. I do."
