Life for years was nothing but darkness. She wishes she could dream to atleast notice time passing, but she can't. She sleeps today and wakes up 30 years later with a feeling like things happened just yesterday. This is a good thing but she wishes to share the time with them even through her sleep. She wished she had images flashing in the dark occupying her time in those years. But she doesn't have any. This is her one regret about being a blood-sucking being, a chiropteran.

Light appears in the dark and her senses come alive again. She feels the hard cocoon she is nestled in, smell her own blood, hears nature's noises and sees the reddish environment she is in. Cracks appear on the shell and she sees the bright light that seeps right in. She wanna go out but she's tired. She would've chosen sleep once again if she hadn't smelled her food. It was fresh blood that made her throat dry and body ache for it. Her pupils became slits and crimson red. She fought her way out like some wild animal going crazy. Once she broke the cocoon, she fell. But she didn't meet the harshness of the cold floor. Instead, she landed on something smooth, firm and.... Safe.

She looked up and saw a man with jet black hair and piercing blue eyes. They seemed cold and distant but only until the waters trickled down his eyes.
"Are those tears? Why is this man crying?" she thought.
With eyes holding so much emotion he said Saya.
"Saya?", she asked in a childish demeanor.
"Yes, Saya.", he said as he offered her his right palm where his blood is oozing out.
Her eyes widened and she quickly lunged at it. She drank every last bit of it but she needs more. She looked at his neck and smiled like a child would. He knew right away what this meant so he let out a chuckle and cleared his neck of the obstacles, clothes. She seemed like she can't feed by herself yet so he cut his skin for her. She licked the blood and Haji flinched. He didn't know that act would make him feel weird. Seconds later she bit it with her fangs that finally came out.

She drank and drank up to her fill and a bit more which actually weakened him. But he didn't mind it. This is actually the first time Saya helped herself with as much blood she needed. Haji looked for support to the wall behind him as he gets weaker and weaker by the passing moment. He thought he would die but she suddenly stopped and jumped away from him. She put her fangs back and held her head seeming in pain. He was worried so much about her but he can't do anything about it. He was too weak to stand.

After everything sinks in, she looked at him started crying.
"Haji, what have I done!?"
She rans back to him and checks him. He looked so weak but he managed to smile.
"I'm gonna be fine Saya. Do not worry. I am even happy right now. You never fed to your fill ", he said.
Saya frowned at him and cried even more. She buried her face on his chest and sobbed. Haji on the other hand tried his best to pat her back but failed anyway. Saya stopped crying when she caught the scent of human blood somewhere inside the tomb. She looked around and saw a bag. She went to it and quickly examined it. There she saw blood packs. She grabbed them all and brought it to Haji. She handed it to him but this time, it's him that can't feed on his own.

Saya thought for a while and then she remembered how they first met 30 years or so ago. She blushed at the thought , embarassed. But right now isn't the time for it. He needs the blood and thus she has to do it. She opened the bag and transferred some blood to her mouth. Then she pushed her mouth against his to transfer the blood to him. It seemed like a kiss but it isn't, right? Still blushing, she did it to four packs of blood. She stopped when his complexion looked better. She put her forehead against his and smiled, happy that he is fine. She handed him the other packs of blood which he drank hungrily. He took 10 more packs to feel real fine.

Saya jumped right at him crying and saying sorry for what she did. Haji just comforted her and told her it was okay, restating his reason why.
"But..but I could have killed you.", she sobbed.
"But you did not, Saya." he cooed to her in his usual tone.
They shared a minute-long hug with only nothing but the silence accompanying them. Haji then decided to break the silence.

"Saya?", he spoke her name.
"Yes Haji?", she inquired.
"A lady shouldn't be naked this long in front of a man." he said.
She yelped and tried covering herself with her arms and long hair. He just gave her a simple smile and used his own coat to cover her up. He then scooped her up and grabbed his cello case. He went out of the tomb but Saya suddenly wiggled to free herself. Haji put her down and gave her a questioning look.
"What's wrong Saya?", he asked.
She hesitated at first but asked anyway," Do you not have any clothes for me?"
He shook his head signifying he doesn't have any. He then bowed and spoke," If you wish for me to get you clothes first then I will get you some."

Saya touched his face with her free hand and made him look at her.
"You don't need to Haji. You can just carry me where my clothes lie.", she said it with a smile and blush.
Haji looked at her and smiled. If that is what you wish.
She held on his coat tightly making sure she doesn't expose herself to him any more than she is right now. Good thing Haji is a big guy despite being a bit lanky in stature. This way she doesn't look way, way underdressed.

He carried her once more and leaped his way to the House of Saya's family, the Miyagusukus. He stopped on top of a big building. Then he scanned for a room trying to look for a window in it that's opened. Unfortunately, there ain't any openned windows.
"Forgive me Joel and Kai", Haji muttered under his breath.
He flash-leaped on one window and broke the glasses to pieces. This would surely make everyone alarmed and race up to this room for Saya.

He put her down and asked her to change quickly. Saya stood there instead looking at the room. She was stunned. After all, the room was modeled to look like her room at the Zoo.
"Haji", she called on him.
"Yes Saya?", he inquired.
"T-this room. I remember every part of it. This looks exactly like my own room at the Zoo.", she said as tears started to form on her eyes.
"Yes, I modeled this after it.", he said.
She cried at the memories flashing on her mind. Joel and everyone on the Zoo. She remembered every memory she shared with her foster father. She misses him without a doubt. He gave her love after all and he also gave her HIM.

Then she remembered the memories she shared with Haji too. Like how mean she was to him at first and how their friendship started to bloom. She remembered holding him to her chest and letting him feel comfort when she learned of his origins. He was sold to her for a loaf of bread.
Strange, she should feel angry towards his parents like a good friend would but she wasn't. She was actually thankful they sold him to Joel and Amshel. This way he met her.

She remembered their times together spent chatting, playing, learning together and the moments he served her with all his heart. Then her memories started wandering to memories after the Zoo. The memories of the battles they shared together. The memories which held witness as to how much she made him endure so much for her. How foolish of her. She did not notice his burden all along. For many many years, they stayed beside each other. They were a friend to each other, a queen and a servant, allies and warriors. Then her memory wandered to the last time she saw him before her slumber.

He professed his love for her. He professed the feelings and words he wasn't able to in decades. All the things that bottled up inside him , he said as he disobeyed her orders that night. The night she thought he died. Decades of being unnoticed by her, he probably has more things bottled up inside of him right? She wants to learn all of it.

"That night", she trailed," you told me how you felt. I had another reason to live for.", she cut her words as her eyes bled tears.
He frowned. He doesn't wanna see her cry, not again. "You were so mean. You gave me a reason to live yet you left. I-", he cut her off by placing his chiropteran finger to her lips.
"Hush now Saya. I'm so sorry I did that to you. I didn't mean to bring more pain to you more than I already have. All I ever wanted was for you to live. That was one promise I had to break. I could not bring myself to kill you with my own hands when I swore that I would protect you with these. They shared a moment of silence before Saya finally found the words to say.
"I'm so sorry Haji for being so selfish to you. But Haji, will you repromise me one thing?", she said.
He looked at her intently before nodding.
"Will you please stay by my side forever? Will you promise to never leave me again and not go dying on your own without me?", she said and tears formed in her eyes ones more.
"If that is what you wish Saya. This time, I will not break it.", he said and started wiping her tears away.

Saya gave him a smile and walked off away from him. "I'll get changed first Haji.", she looked away trying to hide her blush.
"If you don't mind.", she said as she let his coat fall off the floor.
He himself blushed at her boldness and looked away. Just as she moved once more, this time towards his direction, the door opened letting everyone in the room. Haji grabbed her and protectively hugged her nakedness away from the view of everybody.

Everyone was dumbfounded at first then Kai suddenly ranted. "What the hell is up here?! How dare you lay a hand on Saya?!"
Mao shut him up and spoke," What the hell are you ranting up about? Saya is way off the age chart with being a hundred years and more, older. She's not your daughter!"
Julia then butted in," I couldn't agree more although I haven't thought they would be in rush with things. She just woke up after all." Everyone inside the room gave them "THE LOOK"
