Slower, and Slower.
It got slower.
You’d expect it to go faster.
Right in line with you.
But it’s the exact opposite, as you get faster and faster, it only goes slower and slower.
The tick tock of a clock, the beat of my heart, the music ringing in my ears. Only the passing scenery could keep up. But soon, that too started to disappear into a starry, twilight glow.
What is happening?
The world I once knew was gone.
In front of me, a figure appeared. He was running.
He wasn’t slow, I ran. The twilight glow, become a sunrise as I got closer and closer. My heart went slower and slower.
The glow become a near white, I reached. He was so close.
The events of the past, the thoughts of my mind were gone. I had to go faster. Make everything go slower.
With every speck of energy within me, I leapt.
I wasn’t going to stop. The closer, the slower things got, the brighter the white glowed. Outstretching my hand, I grabbed his shoulder. Everything stopped.
The glow faded. I fell.
I felt the arms of a being grab me. Above me, was the man.
Everything stopped. He stopped. I stopped. Everything froze, into a perfect state.
