Chapter 3: Understanding
Alura returned to the house roughly a couple hours past lunch as it was entering the afternoon. “I’m home!” she called out into the living room. “Sorry I’m late. I got distracted training.”659Please respect copyright.PENANAwgWJMge4U7

Ginsu came into the room with a small stumble and greeted her with a gentle smile. “It’s fine, don’t worry about it. I’ll get lunch going.” He made his way over to the kitchen area and got out some ingredients to start cooking. She watched him silently, keeping quiet about the odd smell she was picking up from him. She quietly made her way down the hall to his room where she peeked inside to see nothing out of the usual but was picking up the strange smell.659Please respect copyright.PENANAsbndzN5AYM

Quietly she released a breath as she cast her gaze to the floor. I wonder if this is normal for a God when they feel stuck in a corner…or if this is new. Maybe it’s always been but I never noticed? She thought in the doorway before softly slipping back, closing the door and made her way back into the main part of the home. She stepped up behind Ginsu and wrapped her arms around him as she laid her head against his back. “Ginsu, I don’t know if it’s a normal God thing or not but…I’m sorry if I have been causing you unneeded worry with my sour attitude. Can you forgive me and maybe tomorrow help me control my demon side?”659Please respect copyright.PENANARUSUGM883b

He paused in his stirring the scrambled hamburger as he listened. “First…know you did nothing wrong. Marizu stopped by and it was my own doing that lead me to feel guilty.” He explained in his gentle way. “I’m not used to living down here…amongst all mortals or outside the Gods Palace. It’s…it’s very different so I may have conjured myself a watered down drink while I was thinking.”659Please respect copyright.PENANAGGwbhjnQOf

She released him shaking her head. “I wasn’t being very nice to begin with so it isn’t all your fault for any stress. Anyways, let’s eat when it’s done and maybe tomorrow you can start helping me train?” he looked back to her and nodded. “Thank you. Heh, I told Marizu he was wrong about you not being willing to train me with my magic and demon side.”659Please respect copyright.PENANAp6kmMQoNUy

“Wait, what? Marizu was with you?” his stomach twisted with worry. “What did he do?!”659Please respect copyright.PENANAu62gpEp6VH

“Don’t worry! He didn’t do anything…aside from making me think I had slaughtered my family in a blind rage…but aside from that um,” she lightly rubbed her cheek with a finger. “Nothing too bad, so I’ll just get the table set and you don’t burn lunch!” she quickly ended the conversation as she got two plates and got the table set, ignoring any interjections he tried to make to get more information on what his brother did.659Please respect copyright.PENANAY704D6XxAX

They had their late lunch, chatted with Alura dodging questions or mostly giving details over what Marizu did. She didn’t feel like going into that again let alone remembering it to give the details. When the sun began to set, Ginsu had stepped outside with Alura and gave her a few tips on her magic such as how to focus her mind to create a blade from flames. This was after her request to learn how her brother had made a weapon out of lightning.659Please respect copyright.PENANAGIEIKRRN1V

Once the night had come, she would turn in and he would finish cleaning up the dishes. He would head to bed an hour to two later. He checked on her once before going into his room, closing the door softly and released a breath. He stepped over to his bed, pulling up a mostly empty bottle and finished the liquid inside. He let his water engulf it and then it was gone. This is going to be harder to try separating myself from viewing her as my daughter and more as a student. He wasn’t looking forwards to doing that one bit. He slipped his shirt off and draped it over the chair. Ginsu changed and went to bed, drifting off after several minutes of restlessness.659Please respect copyright.PENANAQjZpfXAQMG

Alura in her room had woken and sat with a small flame floating by her head as she read over the book that had filled itself out. She reviewed over the information there and only led her mind to question why something from the past couldn’t repeat itself in the present. If she could bring my mother back at that time, then…why not a second time? She thought quietly. Why couldn’t she do that for father? She released a breath upon closing the book and put it away into her nightstand drawer. “Maybe…one day I can ask her why she didn’t bring them back after the explosion so they could live happily with one another.” She mumbled before slipping down under the blankets, forcing her eyes shut as she tried to get some sleep.659Please respect copyright.PENANAGBPk4JsVX4
