Once upon a time, there was an angel up in heaven. She was the most beautiful creature you could ever imagine. Were a mortal to lay his eye upon her, he would be dazzled by her and would from there on see everything as dull in comparison. This angel was the angel of Love. She could create Love on Earth and, if needed, destroy it as well. It was the most cherished gift to receive, the gift of Love, and so this angel was one of the few to be presented to handle it. Love was cherished, but it was fragile. One would only have to make one small mistake and it would have fatal outcomes. It was a heavy burden that was put on this angel’s shoulders, too heavy for most, but this angel did not see it as a burden. She loved to make others love, to see them love and be loved by one another. She would often look down upon Earth and watch in adoration as she made mortals fall in Love.
There was only one problem. As this angel watched the mortals down on Earth, she began to envy them for what they had. For you see, although she was the angel of Love, God had made her unable to feel Love herself. God had prevented her from feeling the emotions mortals felt so that she would not give in to the temptations it brought with it. Love was, after all, something that could make you do indescribable things. Our angel began to question this after watching the mortals for centuries. If God had wanted her to be unable to feel, how would she know if Love was good or bad? She started to disbelief in what had been taught to her from the very beginning. The mortals seemed so happy, so content with Love. Then that meant that she, by not being able to feel Love, was unable to be happy. The angel thought this to be unjust. In fact, she was starting to despise God for it. It was a flaw to be unable to feel, and were God not doing anything about it, she would. Therefore, it came to her disobeying God and descends upon Earth.
The angel knew that one look from her would make men fall for her, for this she had been told by God. It was the one reason as to why she was not to go down to Earth. To prevent this from happening, she tied a scarf around her head to hide eyes and hid her wings. If a man were to lay his eyes upon her, she would appear as nothing other than a blind mortal. She vowed not to interact with the mortals but to only observe and learn.
It now happened that at the precise moment the angel came to Earth, a prince was visiting the village. While parading through the town square, he saw our angel in her disguise. Though she was not appearing in her true form, she was beautiful. The prince immediately fell in love with her. He ordered that she was to be brought to him in his wagon. The angel complied. After all, she was unable to feel, there was nothing to worry about. This was merely a way for her to observe mortals up close.
Though God had kept a secret from her. She had been told that she was not to go to Earth merely because her beauty would make men mad with Love. This was not the sole reason. As soon as the angels feet touched the Earth, God could no longer keep her from feeling.
The prince took care of the angel. He gave her a room in his palace and would sit with her for hours, content with just speaking to her. The angel slowly grew to love the prince. She was not aware of it, though she would be more anxious to see him more often as the days went past. His voice would soothe her with unspoken promises and when he held her hand she could still feel his touch long after he had left. The days past like this, both of them wanting nothing more but to be with each other. As the angel was completely in love with our prince, she wanted desperately to see him with her own eyes. Not once had she seen his face though everyday he saw hers. As he sat and spoke to her, she would let her hands wander on his features. His broad nose, his high cheekbones and plush lips that tickled her fingers as they moved when he spoke. But only being able to feel what he looked like wasn’t enough for our poor angel. She wanted more.
When the prince entered her room that day day she was as eager as ever to see him. She could not contain her curiosity any longer but removed her scarf from her eyes to look upon her love. As soon as the prince looked into her eyes, he saw all the repressed Love that the angel had hid from him. Both of them looked in awe at each other as if the only thing valuable for them was the other. The prince decided to marry her so that they could live happily ever after. The angel was overwhelmed with happiness. Soon after the marriage, she became pregnant with his child. Not only had she found Love, she was carrying a life of her own that she would love with all her heart.
At this point, God had had enough. He had seen the angel descend upon Earth and watched as she slowly fell in love with the prince. God’s anger had grown with every sign of Love from the angel towards the prince as she was not allowed to Love. But he had let her be for this long, believing that she would not allow for the prince to know she loved him back. When seeing that she had betrayed him enough to not only Love but to give up everything for a mortal she was not fated to be with, he decided he would punish her for her crimes. The angel and the prince were sentenced to never look upon the other for as long as they both lived and the angel was stripped from her wings and immortality to wander on Earth, never to fall in Love again. She would not see nor would she meet her loved ones, including her newborn child. The child herself, a girl with as beautiful eyes as her mothers, was not spared from God’s wrath. God decided that every female descendant from the angel would not be spared. They were born from an immortal; therefore they were to be immortal when first born. However, as they met their true love they would, as the angel, turn blind and mortal. They would wander the Earth, never to see true love with their own eyes. However, God gave them a chance he did not give the angel. Since they had not chosen their fate by their own, they could break this spell. When they had found their true love they would have one year, not more nor less, to make the other Love her back. If they failed, they would continue as the angel, blind and unloved. But if they succeeded, God would spare them from their Fate. They would be free to Love and they would be able to see their loved one. They would get the Happily Ever After that the angel never got.541Please respect copyright.PENANAUIuyrYOgjd
