It'd been weeks, and Yang still hadn't settled on her new favorite band. The constant changing of the décor, Blake had to admit, was getting a bit on her nerves. Sure, Yang had gone through her metal and pop phases, going through all of the music that Blake had an inkling of what they were. Recently, though, she'd gotten into bands that Blake had never even HEARD of, let alone knew anything about. Blake was pondering this newest development in the facets of her friend's life as she arrived back in their shared dorm, exhausted already from her classes that day. Many, many things were on her list of things to do as she practically fell through the door to their dorm, but being greeted with the noise of yet ANOTHER set of tacks pounded into the wall, music blaring, was not one of them. Blake nudged the door shut with a foot, the beginnings of a headache already building behind her eyes as Yang swung around, her signature grin lighting up her lilac eyes as the door clicked. The blonde inhaled, and Blake barely had time to steel herself for the incoming diatribe. "RIGHTSOOKAYBLAKEYTHERESTHISBANDCALLEDTWENTYONEPILOTSANDTHEYREAWESOMEHAVEYOUHEARDOFTHEM?!" Blake cringed, not hearing the majority of the question as Yang went on, "-and I've got tickets for the concert tonight and d'you wanna go together?"
The shock of the sudden question still hadn't worn off four hours later as they stood in a heaving crowd of people, having, of course, bought the customary band t-shirts that somehow felt RIGHT wearing them and stood, side by side, as the sun went down. Yang was bobbing her head even before the musicians came onstage and Blake was preparing herself, remembering some of the downright awful music choices her roommate had made over the years. The opening electronic chords hovered across the stage and thousands upon thousands of people fell silent all at once, only to erupt into cheers and yells a split-second later. Everyone was on their feet, arm waving signs and singing along as the vocalist led the way through the song. Blake blinked once, slowly, languidly as she turned to stare up at the blonde- You are surrounding all my surroundings, twisting the kaleidoscope behind both of my eyes -and found her looking right back. Golden eyes focused on lilac as a purple-clad arm slid around a yellow waist and yellow covered purple's shoulders, dark hair leaning into a brightly coloured shoulder as the words washed over her- And I'll be holding on to you! -It felt so right, so peaceful, even with all the screaming and waving around her, even with music pulsing through her, just being tucked into Yang's side and hearing these words made Blake want to just stay here forever.- Time is slowing and it's frozen still -Blake turned to face the blonde as the last dying embers of the sun faded over the horizon, and as the song wound down a hand slid under a mane of blonde curls and another wrapped around the waist of a slight, dark-haired girl. Their heads tilted down to rest against each other, the beat flowing through them like water.- Lean with it, rock with it, when we gonna stop with it, lyrics that mean nothing, we were gifted with thought, is it time to move our feet to an introspective beat, it ain't the speakers that bump hearts, it's our hearts that make the beat. -And as the screams started up again, the last light of the sun disappeared not over the horizon, but into the kiss that was taking place just below it. And there was no place the sun would rather be.
