"Time heals all wounds" it is often said. That may be true, but can time wipe the tears from my eyes? In time, my wound may be healed, if only partially. But can time ever lessen the pain? Time cannot abolish the scar on my heart. Indeed, time can only bring more tears, more pain, more scars to represent the trials in my life. Time is not a friend, but an enemy. A masked highwayman posing as an ally. Welcome aid when in need of physical healing, but the true bane of emotional responses. How many times has time healed a skinned knee, or mended a broken bone? However, how many times has time betrayed us, disappearing when we seek it out? Destroying our loved ones and forcing us to bottle up grief and other emotions in our busy lives? How can people say that time is a great healer, akin to water or rest? Do these people not understand the lie? Can they not see through the mask and witness the truth of the criminal underneath? Perhaps they have yet to view time's other face - the harbinger of pain and suffering. For these people I pray the most, for if they cannot see the double edge on the blade, they may not avoid the backhand.709Please respect copyright.PENANAfrxaLrcFQb
