I will be you Number two,

I am content to be the sidekick,

I am content to be next to you.

I attach myself not to your hip,

but to my shoulder that you cry on,

I will lift you when you trip,

I will force you to be strong.

I will not allow you to change yourself,

I will be strict in your self-worth,

Because some things are so heartfelt,

And you are not something to be altered.

I will accept you for you, with nothing in return,

I will accept you if you let me,

Though to you I will probably turn,

When it gets hard to breathe.

And I think the most important part,

Is not how perfect or compatible we are,

But that we stand, heart with heart,

Knowing we will go far.

I trust you with my deepest secrets,

I give you all of my self-doubt, and receive yours,

Never once would I betray your spirits,

Never once will you feel scorn.

And when you come to me, mind clouded with hate,

And when you arrive, ready to challenge fate,

I will stand and laugh at anyone who attempts to knock you down.
