Her heart pummeled beneath her chest like a caged animal, the thought of her plummeting to the ground was enough to banish her fear of heights for just enough time to shock her into moving. Her arms and legs moved instep as she climbed up the thick rope, like a monkey demented. Her previously shaky knees and arms pulled herself up towards the swaying woven basket, clinging for dear life as she gripped the edge of the sides with everything she had, the rope still tangled between her legs. She looked up at the flame of the torch which loomed above her like a great dragon, spitting fire. A sudden burst of strength (or was it madness?) came over her as she suddenly tumbled into the hot air balloon still clutching the map as the precariously placed flag on top of her head wobbled.'Whoever had came up with this maddening challenge deserved to be fed crayons for the rest of their miserable life!' Cas thought bitterly as she plucked the flag out of her hair and tied it to the bottom of the basket.606Please respect copyright.PENANAer8AsBYNRP
She didn't know why she thought using crayons was a good insult at the time but nonetheless she blamed the height, and the ridiculousness of the competition she had been thrown into. The dizzying height unnerved her as the balloon rose higher and higher into the sky, narrowly missing one of the turrets of the large castle, spectators gasped as Cas nearly went keeling over the side thanks to the sudden impact. The crowd was enjoying the chaos more than elephants on a cake binge, they drank it in as Cas frantically pulled on the rope which directed the balloon where she wanted it to go. Thankfully, the balloon seemed to behave itself as it pulled itself away from the edge of the turret and began to rise again. Cas sighed with relief and took a breather. The sudden skirmish with the turret was enough for Cas to never want to go flying ever again. All she had to do now was fly over the other side of the castle where the finish line was and land on the other side.606Please respect copyright.PENANACElnRwuIMe
Unfortunately for her, the turret wasn't the only one causing her trouble. A bright blue hot air balloon sailed over to her as it slammed into her like a raging bull. Cas tried to pull her balloon in the right direction but the sound she feared the most soon became reality. With a sharp rip, there was a large gash in the side of the material as the balloon began to descend quickly, just before the finish line.606Please respect copyright.PENANAebj6YjdBwX
Cas shook her fist at her rival in the other balloon as Deveroux sailed over her, politely sticking her tongue out at the other adventurer. 'She was going to pay for that.' Cas thought as she was trying to formulate a plan in her head, the only reasonable one was to jump and hope for the best or skillfully land her balloon exactly where she needed it to be. She was losing altitude, the finish line was only a few feet below her, right over the castle she had previously crashed into and Deveroux was now only a few metres in front, urging her balloon to move faster, without crashing of course. Cas had stopped using the flame completely, knowing it was no use using it now since they were so close to the ground, not to mention her balloon looked more like a sunken Pac-Man, just red instead of yellow. An angry, sunken Pac-Man. Cas knew she now had no choice but to go for Plan B. She gulped as she tried to persuade herself that it wasn't as high as it was before and attempted the impossible.
She jumped.
