Summary: Set in S6 and S8E1. Based on Tom and Kass’ relationship and the song “I Don’t Deserve You.”
*Runway Strip*
You’re the first face that I see
And the last thing I think about
You’re the reason that I’m alive
You’re what I can’t live without
You’re what I can’t live without

It was a nebulous night, as they knelt by a girl in a house, next to each other. They’d been following a lead, though they’d been kicked off the case. That’s what had led them here in front of the girl who was still alive.
When Tom looked up, he saw that someone was still in the house, which Kass saw too a moment later.
When the person aimed the gun and shot a couple times, Tom got Kass down so she wouldn’t get hurt. Then the person was gone.
“You okay?” he asked afterward.
“Yeah. I’m fine,” she replied.
And you never give up
When I’m falling apart
Your arms are always open wide
And you’re quick to forgive
When I make a mistake
You love me in the blink of an eye

Tom stopped in front of the car that had been his before their divorce. It wasn’t the same color though, which made him a little mad at her.
“Oh, come on! Oh, no! She painted my car. It looks worse than smeared lipstick. How could she—oh, God,” he complained.
Once inside, still mad about her painting his car candy apple red, the boss Harry called him into the office.
Tom closed the door, only to see that Kass was there and Harry said that they’d be working together again.
“I am not working with her again. Did you see what she did to my Mustang?” he argued.
Kass turned the office chair to look at him.
“Chill, Thomas.”
“No; you chill,” he replied.
Harry won the argument, though.
*Divorce, Palm Beach Style*
I don’t deserve your love
But you give it to me anyway
Can’t get enough
You’re everything I need
And when I walk away
You take off running and come right after me
It’s what you do
And I don’t deserve you

After solving the case about the dead divorce lawyer, they stood by their desks in front of each other, talking.
“What would you do if I was killed?” Kass suddenly asked him in all seriousness.
“I’d be miserable. Not a day would go by that I wouldn’t think about you,” Tom answered her.
*The Babysitter*
You’re the light inside my eyes
Give me a reason to keep trying
Give me more than I could dream
And you bring me to my knees
You bring me to my knees
Your heart is gold and how am I the one
That you’ve chosen to love?
I still can’t believe that you’re right next to me
After all that I’ve done
I don’t deserve your love
But you give it to me anyway
Can’t get enough
You’re everything I need
And when I walk away
You take off running and come right after me
It’s what you do
And I don’t deserve you

After solving yet another case, Kass came over to Tom’s like she’d sometimes would.
He opened the door with a small tub of ice cream in hand.
“Ice cream therapy,” he explained, when she gave him a look.
She walked in and he closed the door behind her.
A few minutes later, while eating ice cream and sitting next to each other on his couch, she had to ask him, “You think I’ll make a good mother?”
In so many words, he told her that she would make a wonderful mother.

After being shot in the head by someone they’d had an argument with, he’d gone into a coma. It hadn’t lasted that long though and he’d woke up. While he’d been in a coma though, Kass hadn’t left his room or side unless for something to eat or to go to the bathroom. She’d refused to leave, wanting to be there when he woke up, having Faith that he’d be alright.
