Object Class : Euclid
Status and Containment Actions: Object is still kept at [REDACTED] Arcade but after evidence has been found the SCP Foundation has contacted the Arcade and instructed them to keep it away from any users until authorization is granted to detain the object. The SCP should be contained within a 20 by 20 ft. glass chamber. Any personnel should stay at a minimum of 10 ft from the object to resist any influence from the object to test it out. Under no circumstances should any personnel try to play the game.
Description: The item appears to be a normal Virtual Reality Game. There are no barcodes or markings to indicate its origin. In fact, there is no official title written anywhere on the machine. The VR game includes a pressure-activated stand for walking, VR gloves, and a VR headset. The item was first used at the [REDACTED] Arcade in [REDACTED.] The origin of the machine is unknown, and sources have stated that the machine showed up in the warehouse one day and was already assembled so they put it out into the arcade, assuming a mail carrier dropped it off without getting proper signature. Immediately upon people using the machine, they realized that something was wrong.
One of the first characteristics of this SCP is that once within approximately 10 feet, a person will become infatuated with the game and will have a hard time resisting the urge to play it. This even occurs when a subject knows of the SCP's danger. The first thing that happens when someone plays the VR game they completely forget that they are playing a videogame and accept everything that happens as reality. While playing, the players become completely unaware of any stimuli around them. The hypothesis is that the SCP somehow blocks any stimulus outside of the game to achieve this effect. This was further confirmed when those who survived through the game became extremely disoriented when the VR equipment was removed and would continually ask if they were waking up from a dream.
While playing the game, the player seems to interact with some manifestation of their worst fear. Depending on their fear and how they react will dictate the outcome. To win the game, the player must overcome their fear in some manner by reaching an objective that is only stated to that particular player. If they do not win the game or overcome that fear, the players are either killed, physically hurt, or psychologically damaged..Witnesses and recordings have shown injuries appearing on the victims as they were attacked during the game. Either winning or losing the game is the only way to stop, as there have been multiple, but unsuccessful attempts to remove the VR equipment during gameplay. Any attempt to remove the equipment during gameplay is futile, as it it only results in a horrible electric shock to both the player and the attempted savior, as well as the fact that the equipment is tethered to the player by an unseen force. The game cannot be turned off in any way, since its power source is unknown and there is no way to access the internal wiring if there is any.
No further testing has been attempted as it would risk the well being of any individual to do so. We are not aware that the VR game is sentient in any way, but it would be impossible to communicate as it only reacts when someone is using the equipment.551Please respect copyright.PENANAFKraaE3K0M
There have been numerous recordings of the players who have been in contact with this SCP, and all have been confiscated. They include one instance where a woman seemed to avoid a gigantic snake, and died from an abnormally large snake bite and its venom. The venom could not be identified by any experts. One man seemed to drown although he was not submerged physically in any water. The worst of the videos was a man who imploded, and it was later confirmed by family members that he was claustrophobic.
We are currently trying to get SCP' approval to detain the object and come up with a safe means of testing. Until then, we have commissioned a guard to watch over the object to make sure no further harm is caused by the SCP.
