A big thanks to those who were able to submit. I'm sorry to those who weren't able to write out an entry and submit it within the time frame. I know that some people have exams or work at this point in time, I hope that it's going okay. On the bright side, this means that all participants win!
We have some great entries, it's so interesting to see how people take a word! I really didn't want to be the one to pick the winners, but since this contest wasn't popular, I would've ended up doing it anyway!
Silverspoons: Man, the way you used all the senses to describe one seemingly little action pulled at MY heartstrings! As I already mentioned, I loved the noticeable character development at the end. This is a very interesting character you wrote out! Congrats on First Place!
Shnuffleluv: Short, but bitter! As I've said, you gave a great visual of a ski accident. That last sentence really got to me. The Rip was physical, but then it got emotional. The way the sentences are structured gave the beginning a rhythmic tone that didn't sound too repetitive. Congratulations on winning Second Place!
Sar-Low: Your word choice was interesting and made the drabble sound like a part of a bigger story. It seems to have that potential. You played with the meanings of To Rip that I didn't much expect. Keep Writing and congrats on placing Third!
I'll see how I can send you all your prizes. If not, I'll link you to them from my Tumblr.468Please respect copyright.PENANAAH20hFoAwU
I hope everyone enjoyed this contest, and if not, maybe have time for the next Show Your Stuff for October!
