A careless and impulsive 19-year-old guy, Jeremy, kidnaps his 5 year old half-brother as a revenge to their father who left him. Realizing his mistake, he finds himself unable to turn back as he takes his "hostage" to the far end of the country, to a simple coastal town off the grid. There, he is welcomed by a joyful family and soon his life becomes too entangled in this loving community he never had growing up.
