What is marriage to me?
First of all, what is marriage to other perspectives?
Marriage, according to the dictionary, is the legally or formally recognized union of two people as partners in a personal relationship (historically and in some jurisdictions specifically a union between a man and a woman). But marriage is more than that. It shows a couple's love for each other, because why would someone get married? Because that person loves the person they're getting married to.
Marriage, in terms of some families, is a way for them to get rich. Some people would sell out their daughters to a dowry (property or money brought by a bride to her husband on their marriage). Some people make their child marry a rich person, probably kill that rich person, so that they could inherit the riches.
Finally, what is marriage to me? It is the very thing that bonds two people who love each other so much together. It is the chain that keeps people from being free, loving freely, and living freely. It is the candy that tastes so sweet, the key that releases you from pain. It has an expiration date (death or divorce), it also gives you pain. But most of all, it is what links together society to one another because connections are made once you get married.
