I've decided I hate this contest. There are WAY TO MANY to chose from! I enjoyed reading them all and I absolutely love poetry and every message inside them, but it was so hard. I've spent the last hour, reading over and over, deciding which ones. You guys did not make this easy for me... :P
With that being said, I hope you guys all loved this contest as much as I! Keep up with all the poetry too, because I really did like them all! If this was your first time taking a stab at poetry-- then I'm amazed! It really does express, doesn't it?
Anyway, a special word for the winners...
1st place: #9 Life and Death by CasyBlackCat As I commented, your poem suspended time itself! I love it when poetry turns into a puzzle and I have to put the pieces together to try and decipher the message! Well your sure did express the mystery in Life and Death and the heavy emotions that comes with!
2nd place: #4 I Promise I'll Clean Up This Mess by Adlondon Honestly, I related to this poem, which is why it struck me the first time I read it. You created a sense of honesty and insecure exposer that I really admired. The title, might I add, fits perfectly. I'm proud to give you second place!
3rd place: #16 Not a Cinderella Story by Flames4Thought Ever heard of Shel Silverstein? Your poem wasn't necessarily as playful, and honestly, you had a lot more interesting visuals than Silverstein, but the main idea of your poem seemed like something that author would find amusing... So while reading it, it reminded me of that. I just really loved the way you worded the poem, and the message was filled with irony!
Give it up for all of you guys, you did fantastic!
P.S. I think it's JellyKat's Birthday today or tomorrow... So happy birthday! (No, I'm not a stalker, I was reading the comment and noticed you said it'd be your birthday in 7 days which ironically was when this contest was ending... so I remembered. I kinda feel like a creep now. Oh well.)
