I've been quiet for a few days, just doing some internal reflections on what I wanted to post. I was just about done when I realised... what have we become?
I was writing a piece on how annoying some egotistical, self-centered people can be, especially in the working environment. I basically ripped someone a new one based on how much I loathed this person (and for good reason may I add), but as I was finalising the piece I just started having a go at people in general. I know that it was wrong, and so I decided not to publish the piece.
If you do a bit of soul searching, it's easy to see how we've all been brain-washed into this hateful, judgemental societal horde of misfits. We hate each other for the stupidest things, and spend so much time and effort on this tyrannous showboating to prove we're 'tougher' than the next person. I mean honestly speaking, it's so tiring being so hateful all the time. Making up scenarios to get back at people or thinking of what you could've said at a previous encounter with someone. And for what? All it helps is get you worked up and mad while the others continue on with their normal lives.808Please respect copyright.PENANAvrrhdaZh6T
But another reason why I didn't want to post such things is also due to an event that happened recently here on our side of the world. The past week we've had heavy rain falls, and it seems some buildings couldn't stand it. A highschool had an incident where a roof collapsed on a few students. Some died on the scene, others of their injuries in hospital, and there were many more that are seriously injured and trying to recover. It was a great shock to out country, I mean no one wants to read about anyone dying, let alone a bunch of innocent kids. But the thing that really was such a sour ending to such a tragedy was people who expressed their hatred and support of such an event on social media, all because they could. 808Please respect copyright.PENANALSEQ6YyGCi
Yes, it was a racially spurred thing, and you can go look it up in detail for yourself at https://citizen.co.za/news/south-africa/social-media/2075526/blf-celebrates-hoerskool-driehoek-tragedy-as-punishment-from-ancestors-and-god/808Please respect copyright.PENANA7BU4aHE0hF
This is just one of the cases that I could find on short notice online, but there were many others who agreed with this viewpoint. People, going online to slam other people through sheer hatred alone during such tragic times, all because they have a platform to speak out on and because they carry such constant hatred within themselves is appalling. This was just another eye-opener for me to use social or online platforms for something other than hate, and even though it is to vent my feelings and discuss my opinions of things, it should never undermine another person just because I can. There's not enough time to waste life hating other people, and I already don't have enough mental stability to allow other people to 'control' my emotions with their own life decisions (no matter how annoying it is to me). 808Please respect copyright.PENANACGW0PYc5U4
There is always a better way to use your words, to stand up for people who have been targeted by such people who abuse their freedom of speech.
