High above the ground

The darkness creeping in

Her hold slipping

Yet, instead of helping herself

She reaches out to others

Steadying them,

Help them to the other side

Instead of fighting the darkness that creeps in

She lets her light burn for others,

Every day it burns dimmer

Not able to shine for herself

Soon,

She is left in nothing but darkness

The shadows finally creeping up her skin,

Pulling her down

Laughing as they pull her deeper

Their claws digging into her skin,

Sharper than any knife she took to her skin

They scratch her,

Cutting and tearing her open,

Just as the blade does

The only way she can survive,

Is to trace their claw marks

With a blade of her own

Steady drops

Drip

Drip

Drip

Blood drops below

Soaking the tightrope she stands on

The blood,

Staining her light

As she lights it once more,

Helping others as her blood drips

Drip

Drip

Drip

She falls

Her kindness

Her light

Gone from this world
