Write a story about someone still in school who acts in a way not expected of them. A high school student who does decidedly un-high school student-like things. A "thug" who writes the "Dear Abby" column in a local paper. A geek who is aiming to join the armed forces. The star athlete at university on a sports scholarship who goes to local hackathons when she's in need of some extra cash.
Break some stereotypes.
It doesn't necessarily need to be "secret" (the daredevil punk at the community college - it's a mystery how he has such a clean record/is still alive after he tumbled down all those stairs after flying off of his skateboard - could be a well-acknowledged worker at the senator's presidential campaign office; you just wouldn't know right away).
It doesn't need to be that this "secret" quality negates their other behavior (the "slut" still enjoys her active promiscuity while she defends her state-wide science fair champion title for the sixth time in a row her senior year).
- include at least one scene at the actual school
- preferably none of this "underneath it all, you're actually very smart and you don't realize it" -- these characters already know
- PG-13 rating
- no word limit
- creator's pick
- have fun!
*Creator's note: I have "Hello" by Adele stuck in my head right now and I am entirely okay with it.
