I hear a light knocking on my door. "It's open!" Danien walked in with a smirk on his face. His bright blue eyes filled with humor. I smile back, glad he came.
"I hope I didn't go to hard on you," he smirked.
"Just hard enough for me to whoop your butt in another duel."
He laughed, and gave me one of his stern 'I'm about to give you a lecture' looks. "I hope you know he was just trying to help." I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah well if he could help without sucking, that'd be great."
"He just wants to see you succeed, even if he was a little wrong, that doesn't mean you should be angry with him."
"I don't know why you constantly try to support him. It's not like he's supported you in anything you've done. Infact, he's made it very clear he hates you." I glared at him. My closest friend arguing against me. I was ready for him to leave. But he just kept staring at me sympathetically, and I hated that look.
"That may be true, but the same thing happened to me and my dad, and I don't want it to happen to you." He smiled then. In that cute way when he tried to change the subject. No, not cute. I can't think of him like that. I don't want to lose my only friend. "How did you know to hit right?"
I smirked, "I hit you there last duel, and hard if I remember correctly, and I knew it was still bruised."
He laughed and gently punched my arm, "Cheater." After that we just stared at each other. For just a couple minutes the world was gone and it was just me and him. Zi and Dan. Just then, the boat was abruptly jerked sideways. And we both fell to the floor.
