“Looks like we need to go hunt more beasts, we’re running out of food.”
“Can you get me more of those boars from yesterday Rawell?”
“Hmph! You lazy bird come help me hunt, you know I’m getting too old for this.”
“Oi! Rawell we’re both getting old, these old wings of mine can barely flap anymore.”
“Nonsense! I saw you chasing those younger female birds yesterday, you can’t fool me. We’ve been together for far too long Pu.”

“If you want boars we have to go to the southwest and hunt for the frost horned boars, those are the only ones we can eat a lot of. Plus, their skin will help keep the house in tiptop shape for the upcoming winter. The fat can also be used as seasoning to make the soup tastier. Oh! The bones could also be used to..”
“Rawell do you always have to talk about the uses for everything we kill? Doesn’t it get old after all these centuries?”
“Of course not my dear old friend! Everything on this planet has a use! We must waste nothing!”
“Alright alright, you can keep your hides bones brains or whatever just make sure you give me that delicious meat.”
As both the man and the bird were moving southwest they both suddenly stopped at the sight of something they thought they would never see.
A human boy.
He looked no older than eight. His clothes were tattered, his face bloodied and his breathing irregular.
“Pu you go hunting by yourself today, you can only bring home meat if you want.”
“Alright Rawell, make sure you take care of that child okay?”
Pu spreads his wings and begins to fly southwest as Rawell picks up the child and assesses his body.
“This is bad… this child might die.”
His face stiffens as he rushes back to his wooden cabin. He lays the child down on his bed and begins to circulate his energy as he takes a closer look at his wounds.
“He has a large gash in his back and on his left leg, several smaller wounds all over his body and it looks like he suffered a head injury. This will be difficult.”
Rawell starts operating on the youth, attempting to stop the bleeding and seal the large wounds first. His body begins emitting an aura that begins to grow stronger and stronger. He slowly and carefully beings to pour his energy into the boy.
Unexpectedly all of the old man’s energy begins bursting out! If one were watching this scene they could only describe it as monstrous.
“This kid is sucking in my energy at an extremely high rate. Looks like I’ll have to finish this operation fast”
After an hour Rawell stops circulating his energy and collapses in a chair.
“This kid took over 70% of my energy and he might’ve kept going if I didn’t stop. Haha, I didn’t think I’d meet another monster on this continent.”
Pu came in rushing through the door carrying 4 boars with him.
“Rawell I came as fast as I could, how’s the kid?”
“He’s fine now, start up the fire I need to eat and rest.”
Rawell and Pu cooked a boar and put the other 3 out to dry, to serve as food for a later time. Rawell discussed the events with him healing the kid to Pu in detail, wanting to get his opinion on it.
“Hold on hold on hold on, You’re telling me this boy, took over 70% of your energy? His body shouldn’t even be capable of storing any of it yet his core hasn’t even formed yet. And why is he even on this continent? There shouldn’t be another human civilization remotely near here? Everything about this kid is strange Rawell.”
“I know, which is why I’m so curious about him I want to-”
As they were talking they heard a scream from the room.
It seems like the boy had awoken.
