The morning light glares so,

When night ends comes day,

I'll say there's nothing I miss,

But when I'm alone I'll give this,

A thousand sorrys I won't say,

The lingering memory of a kiss,

I give myself no chance to fray.

Capture a bird in a gilded cage,

And she will still feel this rage,

Give her all she ever wanted,

Make plans to watch her age,

Keep her close but stunted.

The closer you keep her,

The farther she'll fly.
