I will climb these steps to get to you,

You avert your gaze, and hide your eyes.

I upturn my smirk filled with lies.

And we talk about nothing for something.

Should we have held on tight?

Would that have been right?

We chose to let go,

We chose the distance!

This is what we want,

Or is it what we need?

Oh how hearts will bleed...

The pain begins to run deep,

Reaching the edge to take a leap

We needed the other but now we don't.

Or is that all just some lie we tell ourselves to sleep?
