"Honey... don't you think that Victoria is... I don't know, strange?" whispered her mother, with her eyes straying to the little toddler who was no more than three years old.
"There's nothing strange about her. She's just one of the rare silent types." said her father who was putting on his coat, getting ready for work. It was halfway through winter, and with every day it was getting colder.
"A-are you sure?" her mother was very worried.
"I'm sure." with a kiss on her cheeks, her father went away.
Her mother closed the door and sighed, taking a peek at Victoria, who was across the room staring at the ground. The older woman released a shaky breath and rubbed her hands together for warmth.
"So... Victoria, sweetie, do you want to play with mommy?" She knelt in front of her, trying to will her to look at her eyes, but she did not move. Her eyes fixed on the ground. "Victoria... Victoria, look at mommy, please." but still nothing. "V-Victoria, look at me." her voice was starting to shake. "Victoria!" and then she raised her voice.
Victoria, showing the first sign of being alive, slowly looked up at her mother. Her big dark eyes blinking up, but nothing else. Not a sound, not any other movement.
Her mother looked at her, and tears started to well up in her eyes. "Oh... my baby." she picked up the child and held her close, "What's wrong with you?" she whispered. Victoria was limp in her arms, like a lifeless doll.
Just the stench of this feeble human makes me want to vomit
How Victoria longed for the fiery depths of Hell and the darkness of its life absorbing walls. It's only been a few years since she had been punished, and yet she was already willing to murder her fleshy vessel to fall back inside.
But everything wasn't that easy.
Victoria's creator had placed her in this filthy world in order to test her... discipline her. Victoria had acted unseemly back in Hell, and this was her punishment. There was no other way to play it out.
With her small, chubby hands, Victoria pushed herself away from her body's mother, and calmly walked away.
All she had to do was wait at least ninety more years of boring and somehow keep herself under control. Waiting... waiting she could do.
With a small flop, her vessel sat down away from her mother, and continued staring into the ground. From the other room, she could hear the human sobbing
Ugh, a horrid noise.
She could kill her, but that would only mean enraging her creator, and she didn't want that.
Sighing, Victoria closed her eyes. Just to be back where Lucifer was would be enough. Oh, how she missed him so much.
"Victoria..." muttered a voice from behind her, a voice that she recognized.
From behind her stood the very demon that had brought her into the human world. The faceless demon, one of Lucifer's generals. How he had ever gotten that title she would not know. He was as weak as the dirt under her heel.
You insufferable dotard! It's your fault that I'm inside of this human child!
Victoria started screaming, gaining the attention of her mother, who had immediately came to her aid. She barely spoke, and her mother didn't even know if she knew how to.
"What is it, honey? What is it?" Her mother cradled her softly, cooing in her ear to calm her down. It was only making her angrier.
"Now, now, Victoria." said the demon, "You don't want to make your mother worry, do you?" at her mental snarl, he just chuckled, "It's nice to see this change. I have a reason for my appearance, the Ruler wishes to speak with you."
Victoria's screams died down at the sound of her creator's name, and awaited for him to continue. She watched silently as he brought out a dark crystal that rested on the palm of his scaly hands. From the crystal emerged the image of the Ruler himself.
Devious pearly eyes flashed and captured her attention, and a feral smile came her way. "Why, hello, Victoria. It's been so long, do you miss me?"
Lucifer! I missed you oh so much!
His sinful voice chuckled through the crystal's magic, and brought his pale fingers to hold his chin, "Of course you do, my little demon. Do you wish to come back?"
Victoria's vessel giggled and nodded, little arms reaching out for the demon Lord's figure.
Yes! Yes, I do!
"Then I guess you'll have to wait a little longer."
What. That wasn't fair... Oh, he was so bad. Victoria had had ENOUGH of this. She had enough of being weak, of being treated as if she was a fragile fledgling.
My Lord, y-you can't do this to me. I will be good! I won't kill any more of your demons!
Lucifer quirked a brow, questioning her, and scraped a sharp nail on his cheek slowly, "Good is not what I want, Victoria. You know that right?"
I don't know what you want... please just tell me, I will do anything.
Lucifer waved a porcelain finger back and forth, clicking his tongue, "It's not that easy, my darling. Do your best. If you succeed, then you will be within my arms in no time." he smirked and tilted his head back, looking at her with his angelic eyes, "You can do that for me, can't you?"
But-!
"Do you wish for me to conjure another demon to replace you?" Lucifer looked at her with firm eyes, not a single emotion on his face, "If so, I would gladly do so. I have no need for a demon who is incapable of following a single demand."
Replace her? Victoria will be replaced? That... that was... not good.
Victoria screamed and thrashed in her mother's arms, greatly despising the words that Lucifer had spoken. She could not be replaced. If she was, Victoria would do anything to have that demon killed.
From the crystal's image, Lucifer started to laugh. "Oh dear... Have I made you angry, Victoria? Shall I create your replacement right now? In front of you so you shall see?"
The faceless demon fidgeted when he noticed Victoria's demon soul making throbs of energy, bursting energy. "My Lord I-" black.
In one split second, Victoria had broken her vessel. That was quite an understatement. By 'broken' it meant that the child's boy had melted into goo, unable to handle such a powerful demon inhabiting its body. In her short escape, Victoria had killed the faceless demon.
He deserved it. A mother's screams filled the room, horrified screams.
The crystal, still projecting Lucifer's image, released a string of insane cackles. "Victoria! Oh, Victoria! You killed one of my only remaining generals. Bad, bad girl."
Victoria's dark red soul fazed through the air her hair covering her blood red eyes and hands clenched into fists.
"My Lord..."
"As entertaining as that was, I'm afraid that was unacceptable." Lucifer raised a hand and whispered, "Don't worry, I'll find you a new vessel. Hopefully, she will be able to hold you." with a snap of his fingers she was gone before she could lose control one more time.
Later that day, a Japanese woman covered in her baby's remains ran outside screaming for help. Yelling out strange things about a demon possessing her child. It didn't take long for the police to arrive at the scene, where the woman was arrested for suspected child murder.
Alone upon his throne, Lucifer was lost in thought. Wondering what sorts of things Victoria would do in the future. She was perfect in his eyes... she just needed to be tamed.
"My dear, sweet Victoria. Let us hope that your next vessel would be able to survive longer than your last"
