Atlas pov
I woke up to the sound of whimpering. I looked down and see Marigold tossing and turning "Please dont hurt me..." She whimpered.
"Marigold darling wake up." I softly said caressing her cheeks. I lift her up placing her on my lap in my arms. She calms down and stops whimpering. "Everything is going to be okay. No one will hurt you." I whispered planting soft kisses around her face.
I couldn't sleep. She would have multiple nightmares. One of them was so bad that I could feel all the pain she was in. I have to know what happened to her. I looked at the time. It read '7:30 am'. I sighed and placed Marigold in the bed under the blankets.
I got up to shower then went to the kitchen as the smell of Pancakes hit me. "Morning mom." I said kissing her cheek and earning a growl from my father "Morning to you too dad."
"I heard you found your mate." He said proudly. I nodded "I did but... there is something about that pack I dont understand I'm hoping Marigold will explain it to me." I said. Mom turned when she heard Marigold she looked at me with wide eyes then smiled.
"Well, you are King. How about getting it out of the pack itself." Dad said. Oh, I haven't thought about that yet. "Son, you found an amazing mate. Before my mentor died she used to boast about how awesome her granddaughter was. My mentor's name was Yvette" Mom said.
"You knew my grandmother?" A little voice I immediately recognize said. I turned around and smiled when I saw my mate wearing one of my shirts that stopped above her knee. I walked to her lifting her bridal style before sitting her down in one of the stool.
I hadn't realized it before because I was too focused on getting her out of that pack. But she's very light, too light. She said good morning to mom and dad. "Your grandmother was my mentor. She used to tell me a lot about you." Mom had gotten Marigold's full attention.
"I dont think you remember but I once went to meet her and you were stuck to her leg like glue. You and your Grandmother finally had the chance to play with your brother so she called me to take pictures and record you guys." Marigold's eyes widen. "Wait! You were that cookie lady!"
Mom chucked and shooked her head in amusement. "I didn't think you would remember me by that but yes." Marigold smiled widely. Mom and Marigold talked until the food was ready. I set her plate in front of her then went to grab mine and sat next to her.
Dad had already finished eating so he left to go work at the company we own while mom went shopping with her friends so now it was just us two. She ate two and a half as she was about to take another bite She dropped her fork and rushed off to the bathroom.
I went to her side holding her hair back and rubbing circles on her back. Once she was finished emptying her breakfast she flushed the toilet then asked for a spare toothbrush. I opened the bottom cabinet taking out the toothbrush opening it out of the case and placing toothpaste on it giving it to her.
She brushes and I leave the bathroom noticing how tense she is. I sat on the Sofa and ran my fingers trough my hair. A few minutes later she comes out of the bathroom. I pat the next to me, signaling for her to sit down.
She walks over but instead of sitting next to me she sat in between my legs grabbing my arms to wrap around her. I held her closer and took in her intoxicating scent. "Do you still want me to tell you what happened inside my pack?" She asked me obviously avoiding bringing up what happened a few minutes ago.
"Yes, I do," I said. She sighed and got comfortable. "When I was born...
Flashback~
"It's a baby girl~" The wet nurse cooed while looking at the baby girl. The mother takes her from the nurse then removes the blanket surrounding the baby and what she sees angered her.
The baby girl wore the birthmark of a King. The mother knew everything she had wished for was ruined. She wanted a son to bear the mark so her pack can bathe in prosperity. "This isn't my daughter! Get this failure away from me!" The mother yelled pushing the baby away.
The grandmother that was sitting on the chair quickly got up to catch the baby. "What is wrong with you! She's a baby!" The grandmother yelled at her daughter in law. The Father came into the room alerted.
"What wrong?!" He asked in a panic. "That! That defect ruined everything! Our pack will never be the rulers! Kill her! I want her gone!" The mother yelled with tears streaming down her face.
"Mom! Give her to me." The father said to his mother with a tone colder than ice. The grandmother refused to give away her grandaughter. "If you don't want her then I will raise her myself. Just remember you will regret your decision."

I growled as my eyes flicker to yellow. Marigold carcasses my hand to calm me down. "My grandmother raised me on her own then two years passed my little brother was born It was the happiest day for everyone even me. A few days after he was born I snuck into his room to see him. Flashback~
"Momma~ Please dont leave me alone." The brother said crying and clinging onto his mother. The mother smiled and caressed his head. "Don't worry darling mommy won't be gone for that long. When I come back I'll bring you some candy."
The Brother smiled happily and watched his parents leave in a black SUV. "Come Child I want you to meet someone." The grandmother said taking the little boy's hand. She leads him to her small cottage where the little girl was.
The little girl ran out of the cottage when she saw her grandmother return home. "Granny! Welcome home!" The little girl yelled happily startling the little boy. "Marigold, lower your voice you are going to scare your brother." The grandmother said causing the little girl to freeze in place.
She took a few steps back as her smile fades and looks down. "I'm sorry..." The little girl apologized while looking at the ground. The boy looked at the girl. "You're my sissy?" The boy asked looking at the girl confused.
The girl shooked her head "No, I'm no one." The girl said running back in the cottage into her room closing the door behind her.
"Does she not like me?" The little boy said with tears in his eyes. "It's the opposite. She loves you dearly. That's why she doesn't want to get close to you." The grandmother said smiling. "She loves me?" The little boy whispers and the grandmother nod.
The little boy went into the cottage and opened doors to look for the little girl. When he found her she was hiding under her sheets. "Sissy. Let's play!" The little boy said jumping on her bed. "I-I'm not your sister! Luna will get mad If she hears you call me that." The little girl said removing the covers.
"I don't care! Momma said I can do anything that means she won't get mad!" He smiles widely and pulls Marigold.
