Avery POV
(Thoughts) - Italic
Jack and I have been bestfriends for years maybe too many years. But, for a majority of those years people thought that we were a couple. Can't a boy and a girl just be friends?
As Jack pulls into the school parking lot I can see all the girls eyeing me like they're jealous or something. I ignore it although Jack is one the popular kids at school. I keep telling people that we don't have those kind of feelings for each other. But recently, I don't really believe my answers anymore.
Do I like my bestfriend? Nah its probably just a phase.
I shake away the thought of liking my bestfriend and go to class. I meet with my schoolmate, Nadia, we start talking about the homework we worked on the previous night. I guess we're a mini study pair.
Mrs. Tucker says, "Good morning class, you guys will be assigned a project, but i'll be picking your partners." As soon as she finishes her sentence the schools bad boy, Aiden Spencer, walks in the class. Mrs. Tucker gives Aiden a side-eye.
She starts to assign pairs then next thing I hear is "Avery Evans and Aiden Spencer." I stop breathing for a second then my eyes meet Aiden's green eyes.
This can't be, why would she pick Aiden as my partner when she knows that him and I don't get along. Yeah, Aiden has been messing with me ever since freshman year (they're in college btw), now we're seniors.
I always had a little crush on him, but recently he's been really annoying. Rumors about him breaking a lot of girls hearts has went around school like crazy. But I didn't care. For some reason, I have a feeling we'd be a good couple.
I'm not sure if he'd be faithful though. That's what I'm concerned about. Plus, I don't know how he feels about me.
I shrug then continue the rest of the school day with a breeze. I see Aiden leaning on my locker smirking. I roll my eyes and walk towards him. "Why are you on my locker dweeb?" He sighs, "Hey to you too partner, I wanted to walk you home and talk about the project."
"Aiden you don't have to worry about it, I'll just do it on my own-" I was cut off by Aiden, "Nope no can do Avery, I want to participate in this too." I give him a look, "Don't want you to F it up" I punch his arm and he takes me home. Turns out we'll be doing it at my house since I live alone.
He isn't as bad as I thought, we had a couple chuckles.
I guess we'll see what happens tomorrow.
