Annie Weasley walked down Diagon Alley, her billow of fire colored red hair flowing behind her reminding the passer-by’s of a Phoenix. Where the old girl ended the new ne began. Annie was well known in Diagon Alley for many things, none of which surprised them at the beauty of the woman. Annie Weasley walked down past several shops until she reached Madam Malkin’s Robes for all occasions. Stepping inside she narrowly missed a clump of angry black robes that had flung itself at her upon entering. Annie didn’t blame anyone for it; this was after a shop for robes for ALL occasions.219Please respect copyright.PENANAfiIEueFo6h
Standing by the staff room was Madam Malkin yelling angrily at a pale blonde woman no older than Annie but no younger than her little brother Ronald. The blonde woman turned and ran from the shop in tears. Her big eyes clamped shut in sadness. Annie waited several tense and silent moments before approaching Madam Malkin by the door. When Madam Malkin spotted the tiny red haired Witch she instantly sprouted a smile.
“Annie! When did you return from Egypt?” Annie laughed, pleased that her return had changed Madam Malkin’s mood from bad to happy. She seemed to have that effect on everyone… except her Potions master at Hogwarts and her stick in the mud Twin brother Percy. Madam Malkin pulled Annie into a tight hug, squeezing the life out of her at the very moment the bell sounded from the front of the shop. Annie pulled away from the hug just as her potions Master entered the area that Madam Malkin and her occupied.
“Severus, what can I get for you?” Annie quickly slid behind a Robe rack, hiding for the man that not only made her life a living hell for drawing in his class but also made her heart skip a beat ever time she was within ten feet of him. Even with him just feet away she could feel the blush rush to her checks when she noticed he was wearing one of her last years male robes design.
“I need new robes. These have torn on the bottom due to… a little issue I had with a Werewolf a few nights ago. I have at least a few weeks supply so when you can get around to it that would be lovely.” Madam Malkin walked off, leaving Annie hidden and Severus Snape standing proud and also annoyed. He seemed to know she was there for he scoffed slightly.
“Miss. Weasley I watched you walk in there is no need for you to hide behind that rack of robes. Come out and stop acting like the dunderhead your era seems to be.” Annie, still blushing slid out from behind the robes and stood to her full height, which only caused her to reach his shoulder, and look down at her pale freckled hands. She could tell he was looking at her, observing what she was wearing. She was very skilled in blending with muggle’s. Her little brother Ron’s best friend Hermione had told her all about them and how to blend. It just so happened today to nearly everyone she looked as If she could have been a muggle herself.
Her long red hair was down in its natural waves, left as it was not a single item had touched her hair besides a brush and she liked it that way. Her bright blue eyes were barley touch with a mascara wand. Her pull pink lips bare as well as the rest of her face. She was dressed in a simple grey thick length summer dress with leggings underneath that were bare enough to reveal her long freckled legs. Her small feet were placed in a pair of grey pumps that raised her a little past her professor’s chin. She was beautiful to nearly all male wizards… and even though he tried to hide it Severus Snape was no exception.
“You seem to have ripped your robes very close to the hem. To close for that rip to have been caused by a Werewolf unless he had managed to swipe you as well but I see not even a trace of blood. Before Madam Malkin gets back I want a real answer as how to something I poured my spare time into got torn so badly.” Severus looked taken aback by the tone and wording the young witch before he used. In all of his thirty-three years old life he’d never had a seventeen year old woman speak to him and seen through one of his like she just had.
“I don’t have to explain myself to you Miss. Weasley. I however want to know what you meant by all your spare time going into making this.” At that moment Madam Malkin walked back in, her eyes wide as if realizing that the Weasley girl who visited her every summer without needing robes hadn’t bragged to anyone about her skills.
“Professor Annie designed your robes. There part of last year’s bunch. She’s an amazing artist and Fashion designer. Her dream is to work as a Muggle and Wizard designer. She has her own little shop in Hogsmeade she runs when she’s at Hogwarts.” Severus Snape turned with wide eyes to the Weasley before him, trying to hide behind the older plum witch who was forcing her into the spotlight she was sure her brothers and little sister would have liked a whole lot more than she would.
“Well, you’ve done better than most children your age would. When can I get a new closet of robes? I don’t think Dumbledore would be pleased with me for not looking the part of a teacher before the end the summer.” Madam Malkin handed Snape an entire wardrobe of Robes all in black with many different styles. All of which had been Annie’s work. Snape handed her a handful of gallons, turning and putting half that in Annie’s hand once he’d removed it from the pocket of her jacket.
“I’ll be seeing you at the feast in two weeks Miss. Weasley.” With that he swept his robes across the floor and disappeared out the door the bell ringing as he went. Annie couldn’t help herself from blushing and biting her lip as she watched the older male walk away from her. She quickly stopped when she noticed the look the elderly Witch gave her upon seeing the dazed and girlish look she’d been making at her crush and Potion master’s back
“I’d make a move after you graduate if I were you Ann; he won’t be looking like that for long… if that’s what you into. Cold hearted, a Dungeon bat, that is.” Annie snorted with laughter. She had heard Ron call Snape that before but never had she heard someone who could have been his mother call him that. Annie reached into the sleeve of her jacket and pulled her wrist bag out long enough to retrieve a booklet of her fashion designs.
“Here are these. I will be going I have supplies I need for school and Mum practically screamed that she wanted to get me something special for making Prefect again this year.” It was true. Molly Weasley was hell bent on giving Annie something special this year. She had a hunch she would ask her mother for a newish enchanted Journal her mother had made her every year. They always only lasted a year. Her mum wanted her to have a detail journal of her life at Hogwarts. A reminder of the years she’d been young, also a chance to force her to do something dangerous so she didn’t completely regret her school life. ‘Don’t let your life go to waste Ann Weasley or so help me I’ll have to hex you back to first year.’ Her mother had said to her the moment Ann had confirmed to her mother she was still ‘innocent’ when it had came out that Percy had finally done it with his three year girlfriend Penelope Clearwater.
“I will split the sales cost and send it all to you via Owl sometime within the next week. Good luck in your last year Ann. I have a feeling it will be more magical than our kind has ever seen.” Annie nodded at her closest friend related to her interest and disappeared back out into the streets of Diagon Alley.
By the time Annie had returned to the Leaky Cauldron where she was staying with her family they had multiplied. Harry Potter, her brother Ron’s best friend, and Hermione Granger, Ron’s crush that he refused to acknowledge, were seated among the red haired children that were her family. Annie, not at all surprised, dropped into a seat between Percy and Hermione.
“Hello Hermione how was your summer?” Hermione beamed at the older girl. Percy wanted to laugh at the effect Annie had on everyone. If he was ever in a bad mood or needed a good smile all he had to do was look at his sister and it would work. The Weasley-Granger-Potter bunch had pretty much decided if she was ever to become a mother she would be a good one.
“Amazing! I never knew there was so much Wizarding History in France. How was your summer?” Annie groaned in pretend anguish and flopped forward onto the bare table just as her mother walked into the room.
“Oh Ann it wasn’t that bad. You got some really good ideas while looking at the pyramids. Plus Bill allowed you to model him for a new line of clothes going up at Weasley’s Everyday Robes.” Annie pushed herself back into her chair properly and beamed happily at Hermione.
“It’s true. All I did was ask if that was a good color for the Egyptian costumes I was making for Halloween to put in the shop and he allowed me to model some of it to get it right.” Every person in the privet area her family was in beamed at Annie. Mrs. Weasley at first didn’t like the choice Annie had made in her career due to how little profit she would make during the summer but knew that a job at the ministry would only tear the young girl apart. She was too much of a cheer to be corrupted by Ministry work.
“Well we all know Bill loved you more. He never stopped throwing bullies into the black lake to protect you.” Fred Laughed from beside his twin brother George who had stolen Annie’s wrist bag and was currently looking through the costumes he had seen her designing while out with Bill.
“Ann, I was wondering if… maybe you could help me this year. I seem to always ruin my uniform by the time the year ends and I really hate people teasing me about it.” Ginny breathed, her tiny twelve year old form slouched in the chair staring in awe at the thirteen year old black haired Wizard across from her. Annie nodded her head while snatching her book back from her brother.
“I would be pleased to Help Gin. Georgie stay out of my things before I make it to where you lose those hands.” George pretended to be scared but stopped the moment Annie had pulled out her wand and twirled it innocently in her hands. Her mind completely away from what she was meaning to do the moment she came through the door and saw her family until she spotted a mop of long black hair move past the window of the Leaky Cauldron from the Diagon Alley side.
“Hey Perce can I talk to you for a minute?” Percy looked over at his twin sister. Sensing through the bond something was bothering her. Guessing what it could be he stood and followed his sister’s shorter frame out and back toward the bar where it was nearly impossible to ease drop on two people not wanting to be listened in on.219Please respect copyright.PENANAJbTUBNQkKu
“What’s Wrong Annie?” Annie looked down at her hands, letting her hair create a curtain between her brother and her knowing she was about to get scolded for something she knew she couldn’t control. Something that Percy had only agreed to do if her feelings hadn’t changed over the summer like the both had hoped they would. Emotions that Annie was afraid would get out of control if she didn’t figure out why they suddenly appeared to her.
“I saw him today. They haven’t changed. They haven’t gone away. Percy I need to know why this is happening. If it was just a natural thing I would have wanted well HIM when I was thirteen but it wasn’t until last year. I need to know.” Annie waited for Percy to speak, afraid of what he would say. He was the only one besides Madam Malkin who knew of her feelings for Their Professor.219Please respect copyright.PENANADUJjpuhehJ
“Meet in my room at midnight tonight. We can talk properly then. I just have one question to ask before we go back to our family… Why are you so scared of this?” Annie stared at her brother in shock. He was meant to yell at her, tell her that loving her Potion master was a bad thing and that the best thing she could do was ask her parents for a school transfer.
“He’s sixteen years older than me. Our teacher, and he seems to loath our entire family. What wouldn’t I be afraid of Percy.” Percy moved forward and kissed her forehead, a sad smile on his face.
“Don’t let age or his feelings towards us effect how you feel. As for the teacher bit… break the rules for once. This is your happiness. You deserve it.” With those words Percy was returning back to their family leaving her completely shocked. Her stickler for the rules brother wants her to break the rules so she’s happy. Annie smiled.219Please respect copyright.PENANAWCLK6smk8i
