As the two continue their night journey while using the stars as their way to navigate through the bustling downtown, Arata and Kaede were just a few minutes away from her apartment.
Or that would've been the case if it wasn't for the bozos in front of them.
"Arata..."
"It's okay Kaede... I will protect you."
"Oi oi, hand us the pretty lady over there and maybe we won't hurt you."

Kaede cowers behind Arata as he holds his ground.
Though, this wasn't the first fight Arata has been in, but those times, he didn't have to protect someone, if anything, Kaede was there and he had to look out for her to.
In low voice, Arata said to Kaede,
"Kaede, I'm going to buy time so that you can run all the way to your apartment. Don't stop and don't turn back no matter what. Just get to your apartment and lock everything."
"What about you!"
"I will be fine. I will see you at work tomorrow."
