I checked into work, my boss yelling at me. "Hurry Rachel! We're really busy!" I sighed. "Yes sir!" I tucked in my pink shirt, grabbed a notepad and hurried into the dining area.
The restaurant I work at, The LoveHouse, was busy almost all the time. But today was Valentines Day, so it was extra busy. I got to a table and introduced myself. I put on a smile.
"Hello there! Welcome to The LoveHouse. I am Rachel and I will be your waitress today, what can I start you with?"
I take what seems like the couples orders and go fill in their drinks. When I returned, I saw them making out. I left their drinks there and let them take a little more time to check the menu.
I shook my head, chuckling. It was funny. I worked at the most romantic restaurant in town, yet I still couldn't find love myself. It was kind of sad, actually.
After a couple tables, I was finally on break. 10 minutes yes, but still a break. I went out and breathed in the cold February. My shift was not yet over, but I already felt tired. I shook my head and prepared myself for the next couple of tables.
I went up to a table with just a man. He was hot, I'll admit. But I could never say that to a customer. "Hello there! Welcome to The LoveHouse, I am Rachel and I will be your waitress today, what can I start you with?" I asked for like the seventh time today. Or ninth. I couldn't tell.
"Oh? Your my waitress, huh? I'd like to start off with you sweetheart." he said, his smooth voice making me blush. "Oh, uh sir. Um, what w-would you like for real?" I asked, stuttering.
He chuckled. "Just a coffee, thank you. But I would really like your number." He said. I smiled, a blush still present on my face. "Sure thing sir." I went to go grab his coffee and came back. He had his phone out for me.
I chuckled and wrote my number in it. "Do you need anything else sir? Or would you like a minute to take a look at the menu?" I should've known he wouldn't respond appropriately.
"I'd like a minute to look at you." he said, his eyes roaming my body. I suddenly felt hot, but that could be from the kitchen. Definitely not from him....nope.
"Uh sir..." I tried saying something but my words got caught in my throat. He chuckled. "Please, call me Lawrence." He said. He grabbed my hand and kissed the back of it. "But." He continued.
"I wouldn't mind being called sir....if you know what I mean?" He said seductively.
I blushed, and that made me even hotter. I couldn't say that was from the heat of the kitchen. All I could do was turn around and hurry back to the kitchen. I had to take a breather.
"Rachel. You don't look so good. Are you okay to work?" One of the waiters, John, asked. I nodded, not trusting myself to speak. Otherwise, I might faint from embarrassment.
I took other orders, trying to calm down before going back to his table. When I did, I was surprised. He wasn't there, but a note card with 200 dollars was on the table. His total wasn't even 10 bucks. I picked up the note.
It was nice seeing you. Here's my number, call me sometime sweetheart.555Please respect copyright.PENANA1ckPVw4kVU
And his number was below it, with a heart right next to it. I was stunned, shocked even. I took the card and put it in my pocket. I sighed, carrying on with my work. 555Please respect copyright.PENANAzxZZfZ0IZg
Nothing that special really happened but I did notice I was being flirted with a lot. Did this always happened? Was I just oblivious until now? Even some girls flirted with me, which I didn't mind, I was bisexual after all.
It was around 10 pm, when I was finally able to take a break. Yes, a break. The end of my shift was not until 12, since this restaurant doesn't close until then. I went outside again, and decided to drink some of the wine that was in the break room fridge.
"Hey Rachel." It was my other coworker. Marissa, I think her name was. "Hey." I greeted, too tired for formal greetings. I took a long sip of my wine. "Shouldn't you not drink on the job?" she asked.
I chuckled. "It's fine, no one will notice." Marissa was pretty new, so she wasn't used to everything like I was. She hummed to a song that was fairly popular on the radio. It was about love, so it was probably playing in the background in the dining area.555Please respect copyright.PENANAuk4aUPv0te
I sighed, taking my last sip of the red colored alcohol, and looked up at the stars. It was a fairly cloudless night, with a lot of stars in view. Marissa then cleared her throat.
"Hey Rachel?" She asked. I looked at her. She was quite pretty, her long black hair tied in a bun, and her blue eyes sparkling. She had olive skin, which seemed really soft to the touch.
"Rachel?" I looked up, forgetting that she called me. "Yes?" I asked. She was kinda blushing, I think. It was hard to tell since it was a bit dark out, the only light being from the street lamp.
"Will you go out with me?" I was shocked, to say the least. I closed my mouth and stared at her. I didn't really know this girl that much but I did know that she was nice, she loved chocolate, and she was really pretty.
I thought about it for a bit and smiled. She was really cute and she was my type after all. If there was anyone I'd date at work, it'd be her.555Please respect copyright.PENANAYHPRmsvxom
"Sure Marissa, I'd love that."
She smiled widely and giggled. She then kissed me on the cheek and went back inside, all giddy. I shook my head at how cute she was.
Today was interesting, and not in a bad way.

"Ready to go babe?" I asked my girlfriend, Marissa. She nodded and grabbed my hand. I kissed her lips and we walked to the car.
It was mid august, and I was taking Rissa to college. I had learned that she wanted to go to college this year and she got in.
After Valentines Day, her and I just hit it off and now we've been together for 5 months. I already loved everything about her. The way she danced, how she always smiled.
I threw away the note that Lawrence gave me and donated the tip I got to charity. I couldn't keep it, it just felt wrong. I smiled back to that faithful day. If I wasn't there, I don't think I'd be where I was now.
And that's why Valentine's day is my favorite holiday.
