While I could describe voice in some way with paragraphs upon paragraphs of flowery prose, I'm just going to dumb this down enough so even the most idiotic of you peons can comprehend me.
My writing voice? Well, it depends.
For different genres, different stories, my voice will change to suit my needs. Deep down beneath it all, however, it is all the same. It's still the same voice filled with my fake ego.
Or is it real ego? After all this time of jokingly being an intentionally condescending person, it starts to feel real. I'm not even sure anymore.
Anyway, the voice I use most often when I'm actually writing something of significance, is one that is "Tolkien-inspired". All that means is that I change up my word choice and sentence structure up a bit to sound more archaic, more eloquent. For many of the heathens that dot the internet, that voice is beyond their puny minds. They don't understand it, no, they can't understand it.
So now I bet you're thinking something along the lines of, "Lion's voice isn't all that she makes it out to be," yes?
You're probably right. But remember when I said, "it depends"? Well here it is. Here's the big "it depends". See, I've been using a different voice for this whole little entry. It's my rant book voice, except for the fact that I've striven to tone it down on the sarcasm, cynicism, craziness, vulgarity, and swearing. Plus I'm actually (partially) making an effort to write, not just pounding my forehead into the keyboard over the stupidity of the internet.
