"I've come to get you out of here."
"What if I don't want to leave?"
"Then I guess we'll have to do it the hard way."
"And what's that?"
He rolled his strangely-colored eyes and groaned. "Don't you ever stop asking questions?"
Myra thought about it, then shook her head. "Never." The boy groaned again and shut the dresser drawer. He slipped a small object into his pocket.
"Well get ready, we're leaving tonight."
Myra looked down at her tattered, dirty school uniform. The dress had seen better days. She looked back up and eyed the mysterious boy. "Tonight? Where are we going?"
"To a safe place; away from here. Away from Shamirah."
Myra turned her head toward the one window in the room. It was open, unlike before how it was always locked. She then turned to the boy. "What's your name?"
The boy raked his scrawny fingers through his black hair and shrugged. "Why should you know?"
"Because I don't trust anyone whom I don't know the name of that promises me a thing that seems too imaginative to think real."
He sighed, and the room was quiet for a good minute before he answered, "Nicolas."
"Alright, Nicolas, I'm Myra."
"Enough with the chit chat, we need to get out of here before she comes back." He climbed up onto the small concrete dresser that sat right underneath the window and climbed through it. Just when Myra was about to leave with him, the metal door to the room creaked open.
Myra whipped her head toward Mistress Shamirah, who was standing in the doorway along with one of the female guards. Before the green-eyed girl could even blink she was in the clutches of the womens' grip. She struggled, kicking and screaming for Nicolas to come back, but he never did.
And just as quick as the mistress and guard had scooped Myra up from her freedom, the girl had been taken out of the security of her bedroom and down the hallway where the brown eyes of girls dressed in pink met the flailing, screaming Myra.
Before Myra could think, a guard's bat collided with her head and she quickly fell limp in the two womens' arms; knocked out cold.
