There is a sudden knock at the door. My mother was on her laptop working as she usually does. Normally, I would call out my sister to open the door although I am clearly standing next to it, today she was not at home.
Sighing I walk to the door.
"We have come for the crown princess!" A man dressed in what looked like a royal garment said almost immediately I opened the door. He looked like a character from a book or a play. Next to him was a man not older than him dressed in the same.
"Mom, there are people asking for the crown princess!" I yelled into the house.
"Jenny! I'm working! And don't you think you are a bit too old for role-playing?" Mom yelled back in a tone that suggested she didn't care.

"Are you saying that I am a princess and I was adopted into this family?" I asked feeling excited.
"Ha! You wish!" Mom said still not looking from her laptop. How the heck can she hear us?

Within minutes we are dragged away to this island called Fashin that I have never heard of.

"This is terrible news, princess!!" Someone probably one of the people introduced to me as my guard barged into my room.
"What are you wearing princess?" He asked eying my clothes. I looked at myself. I was dressed in sweatpants and a t-shirt! Have they never seen such clothes do I have to explain it to him?
"Oh, this is a t-shirt and a--"
"There is no time for that! The Queen has been stolen!"
"What?!" I blurted out in surprise. Sure, I have heard of being kidnapped but not stolen! How can someone steal someone else! Is this supposed to be a joke?

"Also we found a letter." The man said handing me the note written 'We have STOLEN the Queen and we will not return her'
Seeing the word 'stolen' capitalized, I was forced to believe that my mother was indeed stolen. The question is, why steal the Queen? Don't they know that I too want to be stolen?!
"T--then send out a search party and search everywhere!!" I ordered my voice shaky. I have never once ordered anyone! Chester looked at me.
"Don't you think we have already done that? What do you think we are? I was just informing you that you are in charge until the Queen returns." He says before leaving not explaining a single word.
What?! I am in charge?! Do they think, I, a lazy high school student who by the way skipped school because she was a princess, is ready to rule a kingdom.
"Also, it's just temporary." Chester walked in said and then left.
"I wonder if Mom, really was stolen? Maybe she ran away and abandoned me." I look out the window as the sun rose its rays shining against my windows. I sighed. She wouldn't do that, would she?
Just as I am about to turn I hear a slight tap on the window. I turn and see a masked person.
"Hey! Open up!" The man said in a feminine voice.
"H-hey? Don't hey me! If you have come to steal me then I promise you won't go scot-free!" I shouted back.
"Damn it! If you don't open up! I'll fall!" The man yelled.
"Good! Maybe you deserve to fall, you Queen stealer!!" I yelled not sure what I was saying, but hey, I wasn't good at English, to begin with.
"Fine, you will regret this!" The man said and before he let go I opened the window and let helped him in.
He removed his masked and I was surprised to find that the man was no one other than my sister.
"Maddie?!" I yelled.

"What?!" I said after some time.
"Yes, royal life is not for us, we are used to being normal without the responsibility of a kingdom. Let's just stay how we were." She said with great motivation.
"So we are just supposed to run away just like that? Okay!" And that's how we ran away from Fashin and moved to another country where we would never be foun--

"Mom, I dreamt that you were the queen and I was the princess of Fashin!" I excitedly said and Maddie burst out laughing.
"You? A princess that has to be a nightmare!"
"Well, the only nightmare she will be having if she is late for school!" Mother said and I remembered it was my first day of school!!
