On a Sunday, in the beach near the evening, Aera gazed at the ocean, the cold water overlapping her feet, fizzing and bubbling and the golden hue of the soft sand that was beneath her feet. She felt the wind caress her face and the waves roll down the coast with a soft hiss. Without hesitation, she removed the scrunchie that was keeping her hair up and plunged into the blue-green water, sinking in the cold feeling that went down her spine as she closed her eyes.

The waters capitatived her beautiful face as she sunk even lower, longing for that lukewarm feeling once again, absorbing all sound of the outside world. Opening her eyes and bringing her head afloat, Aera's eyes are steady on the horizon, her face aglow with the last of the orange and reds as twilight beckons the stars, the sea flashing a hue of bright blue as the sun dimmed in the horizon. By that time, everyone has left the beach, leaving her isolated near the coast of the sea, the surface rising and falling with rhythmic ease.

She walked towards the coast, as she was on the shallow edge isolated from everyone else and got a chilled feeling in her body. She hated that feeling of loneliness as it felt like it was squeezing her enough to be a constant pain. It killed her everyday, the inner light she once had was now being replaced with darkness, the world being drained of every color in her eyes, nothing for her to reflect on or someone who'd understand her pain much more that she did. In the end, there was nothing to keep her alive anymore.

The rest of the world was crumbling in her hands as she cried slowly, the tears mixing with the salty waters of the sea. She was sinking in her own ocean, yet no one saw the girl drowning in her own world. Night had fallen in the world, the stars glowing with luminous energy while Aera stared at the stars that her eyes had reflected upon, and she decided that it was time to go home.

She walked towards her sandals, which were kept in her backpack along with her notebooks and pens that were kept dry but tilted due to the winds. Slopping herself with a towel, she grabbed her backpack and headed towards home for the night.

The gold rays of sunlight shone through the window and Aera burrowed herself into the warm, soft sheets. She hesitated, but soon after got off the bed and gazed into the window, its vivid light extending across the sky in a rosy hue. In a blur, she realized that today was the practice performance of Romeo and Juliet and that she needed to arrive to school a little earlier.

She rushed to the bathroom and did her regular morning routine. As she was brushing her hair, she got a notification from her phone. She checked her phone and it said that the class was going to do the performance at the school stage and not in the classroom along with a practice audience.

Aera stopped brushing her hair and scrambled to get out of the bathroom and get her things. She grabbed her backpack, which was filled with props for the performance. She unlocked the door and left the apartment. As she walked towards school, she thought she recognized someone from her class. Sungjin. He was riding with his father and she only saw him for a second before the car drove off into the distance.

Sungjin crawled out of the warm, soft sheets and watched as the orange rays of sunlight peak through the rectangular glass windows. He stretched his arms and did his regular morning routine. While he was brushing his fair-brown quiff-styled hair, he got a notification from his phone. He stopped brushing , opening the bathroom door and left the bathroom. He got into the car with his father and they drove to the school. He saw Aera walking on the sidewalk with a restrained expression for a second before his father drove into the distance. They reached the school and his father told Sungjin to continue with the straight-A grades. Sungjin went to his friends while Aera sat by herself on one of the school's benches.

Some girls were backstabbing her and snickering as they spat insults at her. Aera just kept looking at the floor as the girls came closer. Sungjin came to defend Aera but she just told him to lay off and let her fight her own battles. Even though he was devastated by her response, he didn't give up on her and decided to help her anyway, but not today. Today, he was going to keep his distance from Aera, at least until she felt comfortable.
