"Just leave us alone!" Ariel shouted, as her pupils dilated and her canines peaked out of her mouth.
She looked feral as her eyes kept bouncing around the room, staring deeply at the five of us in the room. I didn't want to admit it but she looked terrifying. Even my legs began to shake slightly and I gulped loudly, when her wide dark eyes landed on me. I was about to piss myself, and I was pretty sure that I wasn't the only one who felt this way.
The power she was exuding dominated in the room and I realized that this girl must be very special, considering how the other Alphas in the room looked scared-shitless as well. Even Trenton looked pale knowing that all he did today was insult her in more ways than one.
Since she wasn't chained up like us, Ariel slowly stood up from the spot she was sitting on, and walked slowly around in circles mumbling incoherent words every few seconds. Every so often, she would stop herself and clench her hand in a fist before throwing a punch at the wall. The impact of the punch left a dent on the murky walls, but that didn't stop her from repeating her actions. Every booming sound that was made, resulted in me flinching back. She was wild.
This no longer looked or acted like the girl we knew seconds ago. While Ariel was shy and innocent, the wolf inside her was everything but. Irrational, anger, and impatience were only some of the words that can be used to describe her wolf.
But I suppose it was understandable and I started to feel guilty. We had no right to invade in her personal life if she didn't want us to in the first place.

"Please Ariel, you need to calm down or you'll get hurt. If Lucius or his father hears the noise you're making, they'll come downstairs and sedate your wolf again," Arlo pleaded, while his voice was coated with urgency. I gulped again. I wish for his sake, that he had kept his mouth shut.
In a speed, quicker than any wolves I have ever seen in my life, she grabbed Arlo by the throat and slammed him against the wall. I gasped and the others in the room froze in amazement or fear. I couldn't tell.
Arlo groaned by the impact but did not fight back. All he did was stare at Ariel who was glaring at him with hate and mistrust. Goosebumps started appearing around my arms when Ariel opened her mouth to speak.
"No you listen to me Arlo and you listen to me well. I have no reason to trust you, or any one of you for that matter. If Ariel does not want to share information with you, I suggest you listen to her boy," Ariel's wolf spoke in a powerful voice making me shiver in awe. This girl...she is definitely something else.
When Arlo didn't respond back and continued to look at Ariel in a pleading expression, I decided to speak up before things turned ugly.
"Ariel," I whispered in a soft tone praying that she would calm down. I choked on my own spit, when Ariel's head swirled to me. Get a grip on yourself, Orion. She's only ten.
I took a deep breath before talking again in a gentle voice. I really wanted her to trust us, or at least me.
"We are in the same position as you, Ariel. If you don't want to tell us about yourself, then that is fine. We are sorry that we invaded your personal space. But please, for your own sake, calm down. We don't want you to get hurt again."
As I was saying my speech, Ariel's eyes fortunately started turning back to her normal eyes. Her tensed shoulders started to relax and she began to control her breathing. She gazed at me with her mesmerizing bluish-black eyes, and I found it hard to look away from her.
"Why should I trust you?" she whispered, sounding more tired than anything.
"I know you're afraid, Ariel, but so are we. Our packs might not have ties with each other, but that doesn't mean we can't help each other out. We're on the same boat here and the more we work together, the quicker we can get out of here," I gently told her hoping I reached my point across.
Slowly, Ariel removed her hands away from Arlo's throat before closing her eyes. She took a deep breath in, before her eyes snapped open. Unfortunately, they were black once again.
"Ariel-," I started, too afraid to continue. The others in the room were quiet again, thinking that she would snap at us again.
She quickly appeared before me and looked down at me, while studying my eyes with a serious expression. I thought for sure that she was going to attack me but she did the opposite. Quick as lightning, she took both of my chained wrists in her hands, before ripping it out. I could only stare at her in astonishment, as she worked on the chains at my feet as well.
"Her wolf must be giving her some strength," I heard Arlo mumble to himself in the distant. I could only nod as the broken chains fell to the cold ground. Before I can even blink my eyes, Ariel swiftly reached Leon and the rest of the wolves in the room. Just like the chains on my wrist, Ariel managed to break all of our chains without breaking a single sweat. I was impressed to say the least.
As I slowly stood up, stretching my stiff body, I realized the height difference between us. She was really small, but nevertheless, so strong. And beautiful.
The others were on their feet too, trying to relieve the pain that the chains brought to us.
"I guess her getting angry was a good thing," Scotty said, a bit proudly while rubbing his bruised wrists. Again, I could only nod. This girl is truly amazing. I didn't understand how her wolf keeps appearing even though liquid silver was used on her. Is her wolf that strong or is there something she's hiding from us?
I mentally slapped myself. Of course she's hiding something from us. We only met her today. When I turned to look at her, I saw her cowering close to a wall on the other side of the basement room.
"I," she started, before stopping herself. I realized that her wolf was starting to disappear, and her eyes started to show panic and fear again, as she pressed her back tightly against the wall.
"She doesn't trust us," Leon whispered to himself, giving Ariel a soft look.
Cameron elbowed me on the side. Hard. "Tell her that she shouldn't be afraid of us." I gave him a withering look.
"Why don't you?!" I snarled back to him, elbowing him back. Too many egos in this room.
"Because," Scott interrupted, standing next to me. "You're the nice one."
I snorted. Is that the best he has? I was about to tell him off, before I heard a whimper on the other side of the room. She was trembling from head to toe, and I realized that her wolf is what keeps her together. I sighed and knew that they were right.
I looked back at Ariel's terrified face, and smiled as gently as I could. I tried to get close to her and I realized then that tears were starting to pool in her eyes. It was a sad sight to see, and it made my heart ache for some reason.
“Thank you for what you just did," I gently told her, understanding that she was still afraid of us. I couldn't blame her, but I knew for certain in my heart that I would never lay a finger on her.
Ariel looked at me, before her pained expression fell on the other people of the room. I turned to look with her and I was relieved to see that everyone else in the room was giving her a kind smile to her as well. .
Her bright mix matched eyes made contact with me, and I could tell that she was starting to calm down a little. She looked unsure when I walked closer to her, and stood a foot away from her.
"Please Ariel, you can trust us," I gently told her, watching how the fear in her eyes started to vanish.
"You promise?" she whispered before sticking out her pinky finger. I smiled, thinking how cute this girl was. I was completely mesmerized by her appearance and actions and I let out a soft grin of my own.
"I promise," I said, before wrapping my significantly larger pinky finger around her small frail one. She looked at our wrapped fingers for a minute, and let out a breath. She was calmer now, and I could tell that she wasn't that afraid anymore.
"The hell are we going to do?" Cameron snarled out of nowhere, making Ariel flinch from his booming voice. I wanted to punch him right there, but managed to reign myself in when I saw Carmen give her an apologetic look quickly. I realized then that we all took an immediate liking toward her. Well except, Trenton of course. I think the only one he would ever love is himself.
"Without our wolves, we barely have enough strength. Escaping here is going to be a lot harder than you think," Arlo murmured out loud, to which I agreed quietly.
"Speaking of our wolves...How are you still able to tap into your werewolf strength?" Trenton wondered out loud, shooting Ariel questionable looks. "Weren't you given more than one dose of silver?" I wanted to stop him right there. Didn't he learn his lesson by right now?
Give her some space. Be grateful that she freed us from the chains, you idiot.
"I was wondering the exact same thing Trenton. Why isn't her wolf sedated yet?" an amused voice rang out, and all heads snapped toward the bottom of the stairwell again.
Fuck no. Not him again. Doesn't he have a life?
"Maybe we should try the liquid silver again. I think that will weaken her wolf even more," he said injecting fear, directly into Ariel's eyes. Ariel clutched the back of her blood-drenched dress realizing what he was implying. Snarls and profanities were heard throughout the room, but that bastard was not phased at all.
"Well Ariel, do you think we should try it again?" Lucius repeated with a smirk, crossing his arms in front of his chest. He was leaning against the banister, looking casual and confident like he owned the world. Arrogant ass.
"What are you doing here?" Cameron spitted out, disgust clear in his voice.
"Don't you have anything better to do than harass a child?!" I spoke out harshly. I didn't want this insane freak to be anywhere near her.
Lucius raised an eyebrow, before giving us a smirk.
"Well I was trying to get some sleep, but you mutts and fang boy over there were making too much noise for my liking. And when I came down here thinking you were still struggling from the chains, I see you all wandering around free trying to make an escape," Lucius casually spoke out, while shrugging his shoulders. He smiled, before looking at Ariel's frightened posture. "And since her wolf keeps appearing, I was thinking that she and I can go for another round. Don't you think so, Princess?"
I felt a hand tighten around my wrist, and I looked down to see Ariel pressed beside me, shivering in fright. Automatically, I wrapped an arm around her shoulder, trying to offer as much comfort as possible. I promised her that I won't hurt her, but now, I feel like I have to protect her as well. This girl might be special and strong, but she's still a child that is terrified on the inside.
Leon and the other wolves must have thought the exact same thing because they all took a step forward, making sure that Ariel's body was hidden away from that vile monster.
Lucius took us in, and slowly gave us a sinister smile. "Not even an hour have passed and already, you've made friends. I'm impressed, princess. Didn't think you had it in you. But just remember, you're still mine."
"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Leon shouted out, stealing the words right out of my thoughts. I was surprised that a vampire, let alone a vampire prince, was defending a wolf. But I was glad he did.
"So what should I do with you now? Hmm, Ariel?" Lucius taunted, making Ariel shiver like a leaf behind us. Her hand tightened around my wrist even more, and I wished I could stop her fear. How are we supposed to get this monster away from her? We're like sitting ducks without our wolves' strength.
"Leave her alone," Scotty shouted, taking a step forward. "She doesn't deserve this!" Lucius's smirk deepened, and there was amusement clear in his eyes. He started laughing and the sound even brought chills on my own arms. Ariel pressed her face towards my chest, her tears soaking up my shirt. I felt so useless.
Scott and Cameron lunged at him with their fists in the air, trying to land an attack on Lucius. I thought for sure that they would at least land a punch, but I was so wrong. As soon as Scott and Cameron was close to him, Lucius raised one arm and somehow managed to throw them across the room making them crash against the opposite wall.
All I could do was horrifically watch the scene that was unfolding before my very own eyes. How the hell did he do that?
Beside me, Ariel cried harder into my chest, letting out strangled sobs every once in a while. I looked down at her, and she was shivering harder than before. I wanted to comfort her, but I was paralyzed.
Literally.
I couldn't move at all.
"What the hell?!" Leon shouted, trying to move from his spot as well.
"My body?!" Trenton's voice cracked, and for once, even he was completely speechless. His calm facade vanished after seeing the powers that Lucius possessed.
"What are you?" Arlo whispered, his words coming out in a hoarse whisper. My heart was beating rapidly, and I was too afraid to say any words.
Lucius was grinning from ear to ear, enjoying our panic immensely. He was looking around in amusement, before his gleaming cobalt eyes landed on Ariel. His eyes narrowed on her, before a wicked smile appeared on his face.
Slowly, as he was taunting us, Lucius raised one of his hands, before snapping his fingers once. I didn't know what he was doing, until I felt it. I was raised into the air and before I knew it, I crashed into one of the walls hard. My head was pounding, and my vision was blurry from the impact.
Did he just use telekinesis?
As I tried to stand up, Trenton, Leon, and Arlo flew into me as well. We were all lying on top of each other, groaning from the impact. I was seeing doubles everywhere and I couldn't muster any energy to move at all.
"No!" Ariel whimpered, and I peered in daze over the other guys to see that she was left standing in the middle of the room alone. Lucius was standing in front of her right now, and the look on his face chilled me to the bone. There was no humor or laughter anymore. He was raking his eyes all over her, and I felt like I wanted to vomit. The looks he was giving her were repulsive.
I wanted to scream at him, beg him to leave her alone, but my lips were too tired to move. I felt groggy right now, and stars were dancing across my vision. I knew that at any moment I would faint, and by the moans made by the other wolves, I realized that they were too.
My head hit the floor again, as the pain in my head was too much to handle. In the distance, I could hear him talking.
I was afraid for her.
"Are you frightened princess?" he asked softly and Ariel whined quietly. It was as if his voice scared her to stupor. She was breathing heavily and her hands clenched in fists. Through my squinty eyes, I could tell that her back was still drenched in blood. I couldn't even manage the pain that she was going through right now.
"Too afraid to speak," he mused to himself, when Ariel didn't give him a respond. "Without your wolf, you're nothing but a weak, useless girl. Just what I need."
There was silence in the room after that, and heavy breathing was heard from everyone. Right now, we were practically useless, but I knew things were going to get worse for Ariel. As to confirm my thoughts, Lucius opened his mouth.
"Let's play a game, Ariel." Lucius's amused voice rang out, sending chills through not only Ariel's back, but mine.
