Perhaps you could write about a friendship. Maybe they've been friends for over thirty years and are now elderly. Or a group of friends that have met at college or a fraternity. Could be high school, primary school. What about fantasy? Could make it into a dystopian Romeo/Juliet story, if that's more your style.
The trouble is, a story idea could mean absolutely anything from romance and drama to horror, and i'm not very good at horror/fantasy/sci-fi, but i've given you some ideas that i hope will help. If not, then just pick up a random book off your bookshelf, read it all the way through, beginning to end, and see if you can find some inspiration.
