Thinking about it now, I couldn't have imagined life becoming like this. Going through pain, sorrow, joy and happiness all together can be one of the most amazing things in life. Stepping out in the sun, feeling the heat on your skin, breathing fresh air and waking up to birds singing in the day. Those small things that no one actually cares about and thinks its normal, for me its stuff I will not be able to experience any more. I can't sleep, I can't eat, I can't feel the sun on my skin anymore.
It may sound weird to you and may start wondering what I'm talking about. Sun burns my skin, I can only drink and I can't sleep. What am I?
I'm a Vampire.
It all started on December 30th, the day I was born.
I only remember fragments of that day, sounds, screaming, crying but most of all a heartbeat which gradually stopped beating.
"Azalea,we're leaving." My father said when he stepped into the room, he never entered in my mum's room when I'm here. He closed the door behind him, so I plugged the ear plugs in my ears and let the Celtic music fill my soul. I raised my arms slowly and twirled with the music, I always did this when I am feeling down or nervous, its my routine. I stopped, took a deep breath and started walking to the door. I took one last glance at the green room, beautiful yellow designs crawling up the walls, old brown furniture that smelled like trees and mum's picture dancing in the garden. I turned off the light and headed out, we were leaving town, it reminded dad of how mum used to live here before meeting him, he blames himself for ruining her life but from the pictures I saw, her smile took away any doubt. I took my bags from the porch and stepped outside, the afternoon was dark and there was no sound at all, just my steps which sounded like a sin in this peaceful afternoon.
I trowed my bags in the back of the car and stepped in my dad's old green Cadillac. The paint is starting to come off and the purple is starting to show underneath. He got it painted green after finding out it was my mum's favorite color.
"All set? " He asked after giving me his famous stern look.

He took off without looking back.
From a small Irish town we were going to a city called Athens in Greece,people were starting to ask questions how my dad is still looking so young at his age.
We have two boats to catch and then drive all the way to Greece. This way we will limit the attention to us, we stand out within a normal crowd, well we aren't normal looking. My dad looks a lot more handsome than any normal man at his age would and me, well I find myself quite normal but my father says I am called the most beautiful of all, although its not actually me, that's the skin we put on to look more human, but it seems to make us more beautiful than necessary.
Dad has a lot of connections, so catching the boats and passing all the passport checks was easy.

I stepped out of the car to stretch my legs, we can go outside in the sunset when it reached its lowest peek. Along the day we have special made shades for the car, which costs a fortune by the way, not that the money has any influence on me what's so ever. Okay that was a lie. He didn't notice me checking him out cause he was doing just the same to me.Some vampires have supernatural powers, like my father who can control the weather and any living object. That is how we got a good head start today , he clouded the sun so we could get a good head start before the night. I have a small talent, I am able to see through people's eyes, all they feel or what they have been through and this guys eyes have seen horrors unlike any other.

I gave one last glance to the guy and went into the car.

"You know why we are going to Greece right? "

"Yes, since tomorrow you are going to be of age, they will make you choose."

"To become a full vampire."
"But I thought I already am a full vampire."
"Not exactly, I choose to raise you as one of us from the start. "
"What do you mean? "
"You can choose to be human, but you loose any memories of what you were and who your family was and most of all your life would be reduced, since you lived already more than your age should have lived. "
"I don't understand. You mean, since I am going to be 20 years old, in vampire years I'm already older than that? "
"It's more complicated than that, that's why you have to come to there union."
"I understand."

My head was going in a frenzy.
Since I am a child born from a relationship between a vampire and a human,which is a taboo from the start but I was born, which never happened in the history of Vampires.
