'The daughter of Guardian Ryfen is at my cell? What is going on here, what’s her angle?' Kai thought to himself.

“I suppose so, beware though. I am a criminal after all,” he spoke aloud to his visitor.

The creak of his door after it was unlocked could be heard as it swung open.

“I’m ok you may stand outside,” Dhelena told the guard that was accompanying her.

Kai had noticed her features before, but this close to him he had to admit, she was one of the most beautiful individuals he has ever seen in the Expanse.

“So, what can I help you with?” He asked the Guardians daughter.
“Why,” her short response shocked Kai.
“That’s awfully broad of a statement if I might say. Can you be more specific for me?”
“Why are you doing what you are doing, why make an enemy out of so many in our part of the world?” Dhelena asked firmly this time.

With a laugh, Kai walked to the barred opening in his room and stared out to the night sky. The two moons that came up from the waters around them were amazing, they would rise up and cross paths throughout the night before disappearing. Kai looked upon them with enlightenment.

“I’ve been asked this more than anything recently. Honestly, I don’t know everything that I am doing, I can’t give you the answer you are searching for. What I can tell you is that I have dreamt of being somebody for my whole entire life. Kind of like a feeling I’ve had since I was a little one, that feeling is that I know I am meant for more. My role in this world is going to be so important that it will be written in the history books for all to know in ages from now. I’ll reach hurdles, I’ll fall down, but I will always get back up. So, daughter of Guardian Ryfen of the Sygnen Faction,” Kai turned to look at her directly now. “Why are you still in a place with so much despair and evil? Why do you continue to support something as horrific as the Dusk Alliance? To be stuck in the ways of these foolish people is to be awaiting the end of their reign. So, I’ll apologize ahead of time.”
Dhelena stood for a moment longer, searching for something to say. Being caught off guard was one thing, but it was almost as if she somewhat understood what this foolish factionless individual was stating.

“You wouldn’t understand what a true faction is like. One that has been around for hundreds or thousands of years even. You made a choice and that choice will be the end of you and the biggest mistake you’ve ever made. You are to fight Paeris and Arbane of the Exolid Faction. Yet long retired from duty, they have been staying ready for battle and continuously help us with traitors in Wravalon as is their duty under the title Dutai,” turning she walked to the door of Kais cell.

“Kai of Faerlu, it’s quite the shame you are to go out this way. I actually found you... most interesting.”

With that, Dhelena exited his cell, the door shutting back afterwards and being re locked.
‘The fact that she thinks that I’m just going to lay down and die against anyone in Wravalon is amusing.’ Kai thought to himself.

The following morning Kai found himself in the prisoner's mess hall which was a completely different building then the other ones but was still within the walled in area they were confined in. After getting his food, Kai began to walk outside but was stopped in his tracks as three figures stood in his way.

“Where do you think you’re going?” The one asking was Ashton from the previous day, another prisoner.
On either side of him was Pierce and Benson.

“I’m going outside to eat, is that a problem?” Kai answered with his own question, tensing up to prepare in case he was about to be involved in some trouble.
“Not at all! We actually were hoping to join you,” Pierce intervened from the side, the three of them actually looking hopeful for a positive response.
“I’m not going to say yes, but I can’t force you guys to sit away from me,” with that, Kai walked past them and outside to an area against the wall that was currently holding some sort of shade.

Sure enough, the other three prisoners followed him out there and sat in front of him.

“So, Kai, is it true you lead the Faction Faerlu?” Benson asked this time.

Kai’s stare was enough of an answer as he made it obvious, he wasn’t willing to talk about that.

“Understood,” Benson responded. “Who are your opponents to be in your upcoming fight in Wravalon? Have you heard any news?” He attempted to ask this time.
“I’ve heard they are in the Dutai, Paeris and Arbane I believe is their names,” Kai answered this question as it seemed harmless.

The three prisoners in front of him instantly dropped their food.

“Those are...” Pierce began but couldn’t finish.
“He must not know Pierce, Kai you do know about those two, don’t you?” Ashton asked.
“Yeah, they are retired from the Exolid Faction and fight in Wravalon under the title Dutai,” Kai responded without a sense of worry.
“No, you don’t understand, they were dishonorably discharged for killing innocents on over twenty different occasions. They are brother and sister and they weren’t even in their prime years yet in regards to strength,” Ashton finished explaining.

‘Well, I wasn’t expecting that.’ Kai thought to himself.

“It’ll be fine, that’s what training is for isn’t it?” Kai asked with a slight chuckle.

The three prisoners in front of him sat quietly with a slight awkwardness due to the person in front of them being so carefree.
“Well, if we are done chatting for now, are you guys ready to train?” Kai asked them this time.
Moments later as the four of them took arms, Kai could feel the gaze of someone staring through the barred windows of the walls around their training courtyard yet again.

He could tell that the prisoner could see him. Trying to hide his figure in the darkness and keeping himself concealed seemed to help. Trying to figure out how to get to Kai though from the outside was not going to be easy.
‘For now, I will take my time and wait, hopefully a solution will arrive itself.’ Thought the cloaked man that stood watching the Faerlu leader train from outside the walls.
With a quick turn he began to walk away. After travelling through the upper parts of Azutria, he found himself walking into an older home stuffed pack with a bunch of others. This was the more slum-like area of this great city. When he was inside, he walked over to a table with a bunch of old scrolls and books of all types. Moving them around and swatting dust off of them his gray eyes searched frantically until he finally found what he was looking for.
The book was wide and definitely was older than most, the title was almost unreadable even. Opening it, dust flew in even smaller particles all around as the man searched for what he was looking for. Each page showing a giant emblem and what seemed to be a family tree even with different names scattered all the way down to the bottom until they ended abruptly.
Reaching the page he was looking for, his finger slid down the page until he got to the name he was wanting.

“The world has rid itself of last names for the most part,” the man spoke to himself, his voice raspy but held willpower of some sort. “This was to forget the past of what had been lost anyways. To start anew in this utterly destroyed and broken world, but you are a surprise indeed. Hope might be possible after all, Nekaida Forveno. Lost son of one of the greatest Bloodlines of Family, you have survived after all. It’s time. I never thought I would see the day, but it’s time indeed.”
