There were twelve seats in the Assembly of Dieavkain. Two were
vacant. The Blue and White dragons missing. One killed by a
Ruby, the other fled for fear of death. Their seats cannot be
filled except by one of their own. For the magic that allows
dragons into the world of man is a precarious one. Only those of
the magical sphere to which they belong may sit and rule.

To this, the unbalanced council became. For the destructive
lineages knew they had the upper hand. Out of this darkness a
rumour spread - there was an heir.

Through processes known even by the gods themselves, both White
and Blue had offspring. Stolen while the mother was defending
their nest, a sapien pulled the hatchling from the claws of
death by human hands, one mother saving another mother's
child, the human escaped with the dragon hatchling.

Through lineage and training the woman shifted. Transmuting
herself into wind that passes through stone, she moved along the
currents of the mountain to bring the hatchling to safety.

The knowledge was spoken of in hushed whispers among the dragons.
They knew where this would lead, another war with the Sapiens.
For the Treacherous Ones would spare no resource to devour that
heir, and yet, if the hatchling could be returned to the
council, the assembly might regain its balance.

Did the Sapiens know this? Would they risk another war for
something not of their benefit?

And so it was written.
