Sighing Mick didn't know what to do. Luciel kept flirting with him and Mick knew for sure that it was actual flirting. Mick did love Luciel. He cared a lot about the prince. But that was a problem. Luciel was a prince while Mick was a simple, poor servant. Their relationship simply wouldn't work out.
But if Luciel kept acting the way he did, flirting and spending almost all of his time with Mick. then Mick knew he would never be able to get over his forbidden crush. He would have to tell Luciel the truth. No matter how much the boy didn't want to.
Getting up Mick began to clean, dreading when Luciel was going to wake up and approach him. But soon the prince got up and walked over to his friend.
“Hey Mick.” Luciel greeted, a smirk clearly shown on his face.
“O-oh, hey.” Mick replied. He sounded scared but maybe Luciel wouldn't notice it. After all Mick had been acting extra flustered around him.
“Do you want to go to the ball with me? Invitations have been set out.” Luciel offered.
His eyes wide, Mick didn't know how to reply. He urged to go with the prince. But if they went together then trouble would certainly happen.
“I cant!” Mick suddenly blurted. “I can't love you…”
Tilting his head Luciel blinked. “But why? I love you and if you love me back then there’s no reason why we can't be together.”
“Luciel, you are a prince. I’m a simple servant. We cannot be together. It’s against the kingdom’s laws. We would both get in big trouble.” Mick pointed out sadly.
“I know… but the rules are stupid.” Luciel grumbled.
“I can't go with you to the ball with you. But I'll go. We can talk and be friends but nothing else can happen between us for our own safety.” Mick told the prince.
Nodding Luciel then turned around and left without another word, his heart slowly shattering.
