[Host, what of this young prince?]
Lee Jun looked over to where her system was pointing, although wrinkled her nose at the obnoxiously joyful laughter from the prince. “Too jubilant. I wish to bring up a prince, not a jester.”
[Then… the one besides him?]
“Too skinny, he looks sickly too. I’m afraid he’ll die on me before I can actually raise him up.” She responded immediately, noting how sickly pale and how much of a skeleton the poor boy looked. She pitied the teenager, especially since she knew the chances of survival of sickness during these times were slim.
[That one?]
She glanced at the toddler crying bloody murder, face puffy and he slammed his feet to the ground in a tantrum. “Babies are too difficult. By the time he’ll be old enough to fight the scumbag for the throne, I’ll be dead of old age also.” She said, remembering those times she was a mother with babies. She dearly cherished them, but she would avoid changing diapers and sleepless nights if she could.
[That handsome one looks old enough…]
“Ha! You dare bring the oldest son of Consort Ming into the mix? I don’t have a death wish!” She exclaimed, being a fair distance away so nobody could hear her. Can’t have anyone believing she had lost her mind, especially without the Emperor’s favor anymore.
System let out a growl of annoyance before they harshly pulled Lee Jun’s ear, getting a yelp from the woman. [We are looking for a prince to raise, not prized vegetables! Just chose a prince to your liking!]
Lee Jun huffed in response as her dark eyes looking over the princes and the occasional princess, although only one truly caught her eye. A curly haired boy who looked to be in his pre-teens, large dark eyes looking down at the ground and filled with sorrow.
“Him! The Fifth Young Prince!” She exclaimed, eyes sparkling as a smile formed onto her lips. “His mother died when he was an infant. He was taken in by Consort Ming within a year, but was pushed down to one of the Noble Ladies under her about two years ago… I believe this child and I were meant to be!” She said excitedly, counting the facts about the Prince on her fingers.
The fates of all the Princes and Princesses here were not joyful stories. Due to the fact Yin gave birth to a son, she schemed viciously in order to kill or dishonor the rest of these young boys, even doing it to some Princesses if she feared the potential of them causing a rebellion. The Fifth Young Prince however… he suffered a fate that was a tad different than the rest.
