"Mama, I'm scared," Little Vivian whispered in a shaky voice as the most beautiful woman she's ever known held her child against her chest. Meridoria Glysixis, from the Sousa demon family. A royal family of Succubus and Incubi that were known for their battle-bred instincts and the wisdom they carry from having such an ancient bloodline of a demon.
The screams coming from the dungeon below her father's very own home have always caused nightmares. It wasn't just that, sometimes when Meridoria wasn't looking the old vampire, her father, would have "bonding time"; as he called it. He'd taken her to the room where a bloodied man or woman sat strapped to a metal chair. Valentino Daphne would force her to watch them be tortured. A lot of the time, he'd have her watch a group of vampires feed on them. Somewhere she knew he hoped the thirst for blood would be inside of her.
It was.
But the thirst for the soul was stronger as the fear of what drinking blood could one day do to her. He was disappointed. Meridoria spoiled the child and there was nothing Valentino could do about it. The demoness could be the end of him. And one day... so would the child. Unless he raised her to follow him, just like everyone else.
Because one way or another, they all break.
"It's alright little one, there is no need to cry. But listen well, my little bird, because this is what your father is. A vampire. But I want you to also remember that you are better than that. You, my child, are so much more. Already, you are strong. And for that, he wishes to use you. Keep your guard up at all times, my love," She sighs, swaying her child in the rocking chair in a smooth rhythm that was making Vivian feel tired. The warmth of her mother giving her the feeling of security.
Meridoria sat in the chair with a cold expression. A beautiful creature born from the daughter of a very powerful king. As the eldest child of her siblings, Meridoria had been sent to become the wife of a vampire of myths and legends. Someone so cruel and vicious, the demons didn't want to bother causing an all-out war. So, she was a pawn, just like all the others in the eyes of our kingdom.
But the child now sleeping in her arms changed the rules between the demons and vampires. Just because Vivian's birth father is a vampire, the soul of a demon outpowered that of a vampire. Many believe the leeches were born from demons but no, they were bred from a creature of darkness. The son of a god that's still paying for his actions. A monster that had bred forth the very same vampires that walk these lands today.
Give it time.
Sooner or later, he'll make an enemy he wished he never messed with. And that would be the day he dies.
Valentino's day would come.
And the world would be quiet for just a moment.
