This summer, my childhood best friend dumped me. She and I were so close-- close enough to fight all the time. She finally dumped me in June, which made it the hardest summer ever.
Then, I started at a new school. The first day, I met a girl. She was in my homeroom and she had all the same classes as me. We hit it off instantly and were close friends by the end of the week.
We had a lot of fun times, like doing projects together in class, walking and talking at recess, eating lunch, and making new friends. We even got our first boyfriends together, who just so happened to be best friends, too.
Our life together was paradise. We had a strong bond. Little did we know, something was about to affect our friendship.
In the middle of October, our school's principal was fired. All the students were protesting to bring him back and teachers and staff were leaving all of the sudden. School was at home for a few days.
I guess my best friend's parents decided it wasn't a good environment for her.
So they removed her from our school.
I haven't been the same since.
It's been about a month now since all that crap happened. We promised we'd stay in touch, and we are... just barely. It's her birthday today, she's turning 12. I just hope she knows how much I miss her.
