Chapter 2: silence
Vallas blocked my attack with his sword and pushed back, but I kept pushing with all of my might. How does he still have this much power left? He is really a monster, but I knew that from the beginning and accepted his challenge.
I'm way too far in to stop now; I won’t back out. We kept clashing back and forth until finally his knee weakened and started shaking. He looked unaffected by my attacks, but I guess my kick from earlier had an effect on him.
I took my chance and used this opening to push him back and overpower him. I felt like my sword was about to shatter from all this tension, but I finally broke through his defense and struck his ribs cage with all the power left in me; he started staggering so I kicked him directly to the chin and dropped him down.
After his body slammed the ground I shouted.
“My victory! I am the strongest! Now who is next!”

I totally shouldn’t have said that since I’m already past my limit. But at least the cowards Noilas and Kishi got scared and ran away after hearing me shouting like that.
While I was about to leave, Vallas stood up and stopped me. Blood was coming out of his mouth and his clothes were full of dirt. I knew he wanted to continue the fight but I had no more energy to fight him.
“The fight is over Vallas, I won”
I heard a voice for the first time. It was husky and peaceful.
“Estora wait, I am not trying to fight you anymore.”

“How are you able to talk? Noilas said that you are unable to talk.”

After I said that, Vallas's expression changed and with a gloomy face he said,
“People think I don’t have the ability to talk, but that’s not true. I only talk when it’s necessary.”
He seemed to be open to me so I asked him.
“Why? What's the reason for you being this quiet?”
“When I was a kid, I used to talk too much and I would make people annoyed. There was a time when no one liked to talk to me because I would not hide a secret and I wouldn't keep anything private, I was the annoying kid.
And most of the kids in the south village hated me because of that, and they bullied and hit me every time they saw me, but my mom was always there to stop them and save me.
Until one day I was very upset because one of my friends didn’t want to play with me, so I went to my mom and told her, at first, she was trying to calm me down and help me but I didn’t listen, and I kept on talking non-stop until she got very angry and told me that she had enough of my chatter, and left the house furiously.
I stayed home till my dad came in at night and asked me where my mom was. I told him what happened so he got worried and went to look for her.
Two hours later he came back to the house: his face was pale and his voice was cracking. He told me that my mom was attacked by wolves, and was found dead holding my favorite dessert, a cinnamon pie. So, I burst out. crying and knew it was all my fault.
So on that day, I swore to only talk to people when it’s necessary. And after that incident, I couldn't bear being weak anymore, so I started training all day and night so I can be able to protect myself from anyone since my mom was not there to help me anymore”

After finishing the fight, I was going to check on my friends but the time was very late and the weather was getting windy so I headed home. I walked back to my house, but the village was strangely quiet.
When I entered the house, my mom was frightened. When she saw me she hugged me very hard and told me to get all of my belongings because we are leaving the village. And dad said he was going to leave by himself to get his carriage and told us to meet him outside the village in one week.
Before we leave he whispered to me
“Estora come here let me tell you something before you go, I want you to take good care of your mom and protect her with all your power. And don’t ever let them force her on anything that she doesn’t want to do again.”
“ Why are you talking as if you are not coming with us?”
“Just in case anything wrong happens, but don’t worry I will meet you guys in a week after I get my Cargo” he answered.

“You will know when you get there, now hurry up and leave,” Nashami said.
Mom and I said our goodbyes and left first. When I asked her why we are leaving the region she didn’t answer me. She looked very terrified, I thought it’s better for me not to ask again now, I didn’t want to bother her even more.
We rode our horses heading east and while we were on the way our horses staggered and almost lost their footing and then something unexpected happened.
