After saving Gylea kingdom, Alice returns to her village and takes a rest as soon as she arrived at her tent. She has a dream of standing in front of a haunted circus and she sees a ghost walking into the circus tent.
"Who are you?" Alice asked the ghost.
The ghost vanishes as it turns around.
Alice gasps and tries to chase it. "Wait, don't go!" she called.
Alice wakes up from her strange dream with a scream, her face covered in sweat. She looks around and sighs in relief.
"What a nightmare...," she said.
Alice gets up from her bed when a black portal appears behind her and pulls her in. In a minute, the portal dropped her to the unknown world.
"Ouch...What just happened? Wha...?" Alice gaped. She notices that she has appeared in the cemetery. "A cemetery? Where the hell am I?" she said with a confused look on her face.
A winged figure's shadow flies past her from above.
Alice looks around. "Who's there?" Alice said as her eyes look around warily.
The figure silently lands behind her. Alice slowly looks at the figure behind her and the figure suddenly hugs her.
"Finally, someone just like me came," the boy said.
Alice was very surprised to hear that and push the boy away. "Hold it, who are you? And what do you mean by someone like you?" she asked.
"Oh sorry, I got excited," the boy said. "My name is Blue Vine and I'm a Valkyrie. You're a witch, right? Tell me your name," Vine said.
"I'm Alice Maro and I'm not a witch, silly. I'm a time wizard, I'm still learning but I'm planning to be the greatest time wizard. I guess you can say that I’m still an apprentice," Alice said.
She puts her fingers on her chin and thinks. "You said you're a Valkyrie, right? But...," she said as she examined Vine.
Vine has blue hair, pale skin, blue eyes, harpy wings, dragon tail, sharp claws, and teeth.
Alice gives a doubting face. "You don't look like a Valkyrie to me," she said.
"To be honest, I don't even know what I am," Vine said with a down tone.
Alice flails her right hand downward once. "Oh well, ignore what I said. So, could you tell me where I am?" Alice asked.
"You're here in the alley of the Night realm. Humans live in chaos here just like the Dark Age. I think something brought you here," Vine explained.
Alice raises an eyebrow with a wondering look on her face. "Who would bring me here?" she asked.
Vine spins his head. "I don't know but right now is a bad time because something has caused this phenomenon. Look!" he told her to look at the sky.
Alice sees an unusual moon. "You're right, it's not a real moon. That is one strange moon," she said.
Just as she said that, hands of shadow slip from the darkness and grab Vine.
"Agh, let me go!" Vine exclaimed.
Alice gasps and prepares to cast magic. "Vine, hold on! Chrono Freeze!" she stopped time temporarily.
While time stops, Alice freed Vine and escape with him through a time warp. Once Alice fled, time returns back to normal and the hands look around confused.
Meanwhile, the magic warped both of them to an abandoned tall building.
"Great, we're near the ruined mall building. What a phenomenon," Alice sat on a broken short pillar with a tired face.
Alice sees a purplish-black wolf with yellow eyes and purple pupils. The wolf runs away when Alice looked at it.
"What was that?" Alice thought with a confused face.
She sighs and turns at her side. A ghost boy suddenly sits by her side which shocked her cause there was no one by her side earlier.
"Ahh! A ghost!" Alice screamed.
Vine looks at Alice with a perplexed face cause she screamed by herself and he couldn't see the ghost. The ghost walks closer to her, he seems to like her. The ghost has the appearance of a boy with blue eyes wearing an indigo T-shirt with a flame design on the front, blue pants and as a ghost, he doesn't wear any shoes. The ghost likes her because her face reminds him of someone he knows but he couldn't speak as a ghost. While the ghost hugs her, Alice hears the voice of many people coming.
Alice stands up from the pillar. "What's that?" she wondered as her eyes squinted to look at the crowd coming from afar.
Vine gasps. "It's those humans; I mustn't be seen by them!" Vine shouted and hides from the humans.
"It's here! The evil ghost is over here!" A man shouted.
"Send him back to his place!" A young lady shouted.
The ghost stands and puts on a brave expression. Arriving at the abandoned building, a man wearing exorcist equipment stepped forward.
"Hand over that evil ghost to us!" the man demanded.
Alice tries to defend the ghost. "He's not evil! What did he do to you any---Huh?" she stopped when she sees the ghost step forward.
"We will send you back to where you live, demon! Right here, right now!" The Exorcist said.
"Hold him!" Another man commanded.
Everyone holds the ghost boy and the exorcist performs the ritual.
"No!" Alice exclaimed.
The ghost boy struggles from the exorcising spell when it suddenly goes berserk and attacks everyone near it with his true form revealed as a non-fanged vampire with bat wings on his back. Everyone trembles in fear after he killed some of them in one powerful strike.
"(Scream) Run!!!" the exorcist and the others ran in fear.
Alice gapes in amazement. "Whoa...," Alice awed.
The ghost turns at her to smile before it vanished and it drags Alice and Blue Vine in front of the circus in her strange dream. Alice gapes in disbelieve when she sees the circus.
Vine looks around with a confused expression. "Where is this?" Vine asked.
"The circus from my nightmare---Ah!!" she screamed when an invisible force pull her by the leg into the circus.
The invisible force also grabs and pulls Vine into the circus. Inside, she sees a monstrous clown with a strange machine beside him that keeps pulling spirits into the machine. Alice feels strange and fears at the same time which makes her realize that the dimension anomaly around here has gone dangerous.
"The dimension has already fallen apart! If he keeps this up, the anomaly will have a great impact on the time universe. As a time magician's apprentice, I can't just ignore this! I have to prevent the impact on the timeline of the universe," Alice swore.
Alice throws a fireball at the clown and he sends freezing breath on Alice and Vine. Vine sends wind-cutting waves from his wings on the clown. The clown dodges the wind cutter swiftly and pushes back Alice and Vine far from him. In the midst of the fight, Alice has an idea.
Alice looks at Vine. "Vine! I'm going to test my new magic!" Alice shouted.
"What? Oh, not again!" Vine turns his head at her and the clown captures him in his hand-shaped shadows.
Alice quickly creates light in front of her feet. "I better hurry. Hah....Slow Burst!!" Alice throws the glowing light on the clown and time slowed down.
Alice saves Vine from the clown's grip and Vine stabs him with the sharp tail's tip. Time returns to normal and several ghosts burst from inside the clown with a poltergeist left.
Alice gives a surprising look at what she saw. "What the hell?" she said.
The Poltergeist laughs mischievously. "Hihihihi...Not bad, little human. You beat us all...," The Poltergeist said.
"A poltergeist?!" Vine shocked.
Alice’s mouth half gawking. "I thought that they're not real," Alice said in disbelief.
The poltergeist laughs mischievously. "Hihihi.....Don't think that just because you beat me, everything is over....I will return to beat you but this time...I will be more powerful than you, human and Valkyrie...Ihihi....Mirage!!" The poltergeist vanished with a shout.
Alice and Vine look at each other.
"Did that ghost mention Mirage?" Alice asked.
"I think so...," Vine answered.
"Do you know him?" Alice asked.
"No...I don't know who Mirage is," Vine shrugged.
Alice puts her fingers on her chin. "Then it means we have to get ready if this Mirage comes to our world," she said.
A blue portal appears in front of the two.
"Hey, it's our exit. Whaa!" Alice got pulled inside.
"Me too? Aghh!!" Vine absorbed into the portal.
The portal closed and appears in Alice's village from above. Everyone looks at the portal above them.
"What is that? A dimension portal?" Someone said with a wondering tone.
The portal dropped Alice and Vine straight to the ground with Vine falling atop of her.
"Ouch! My back!" Alice exclaimed.
"It's the little Alice Maro," An elderly woman said.
Everyone approaches them.
"Are you alright, dear?" A woman asked.
"She's alright," A man answered for Alice.
"What's that thing on top of her?" A young lady whispered.
"Don't ask me," A young man whispered.
"Ugh...We are alright...Vine, will you get up from my back already?" Alice asked.
Vine gets up from her and sits near her. “Sorry....,” he said.
Alice gets up into a sitting position while rubbing her back.
"Ow...I think I got a backache...," she pointed.
Alice looks around and realizes that both of them are back in Magi Village/
"Wait...I'm back home again!!" Alice raised both fists happily.
"Home? Wah," Vine gulped nervously upon seeing everyone staring at him.
"It's okay. Everyone, I just got back from the Night dimension and I have a new friend now. Blue Vine, welcome to the Magi village where we magicians live in isolation from the world," Alice said.
One of them laughs over Alice’s word. "Well, we sometimes went out from our isolated village to town or city so...we are not fully isolating ourselves in fact," the young woman said.
"In here, we are family together. Everyone in this village is our family," Alice said.
"Really?" Vine said.
"Yup, come with me on my journey," Alice said, giving her hand.
Vine nodded while Alice pulls him up and they laugh together.
"We prepared a place for you to live, dear," the elder woman showed Vine an empty tent built by everyone.
"Oh....Thank you, you people are the best!" Vine flew happily.
And so, Vine is now part of Alice's family and he joins Alice on her journey to be the best magician. Meanwhile, on the other side of dimension...A pair of pale eyes stare from the darkness.
Poltergeist kneels in front of the figure. "Master...," the Poltergeist said.
The figure’s pair of eyes squint angrily. "You called my name... You have lost to a mere Human apprentice!" a deep growling voice heard from the darkness.
Poltergeist looks at his master. "Forgive me for this but...," his voice dropped lower.
He knew that asking such a thing to his master wouldn’t be a good idea but he dared to try.
"When...will you show your presence to the one who beat me, Master?" The Poltergeist asked.
The figure growls. "Hrm...Soon enough...My time to descend to the world will be soon enough...,” It said.
The figure’s pale eyes from the darkness look down on the kneeling Poltergeist. “Poltergeist!” It called him.
Poltergeist looks up to his master. “Yes, Master?” he asked.
"Tell the others that this Human apprentice will come to take back everything we had under our control. She will be the main threat to us...," The Voice growled.
Poltergeist dropped his jaw in disbelief. "But...," Poltergeist questioned his master.
The figure’s pale eyes show an angry look on him. "I will descend to destroy her myself when the time has come. Now go and warn the others!!" The Voice roared.
At that moment, fears fill Poltergeist as he stands up. "Yes, master!" Poltergeist flew to warn the others.
After he left, the pale eyes in the darkness squinted.
"Hmph... A mere Human apprentice defeated my minions?! I am Mirage the Mirage Manipulator! Your world will be mine when the time has come!" The Voice roared.
