Magicae attributes are divided into “Three Pillars and Nine Rings”. “Three Pillars” refers to the three main attributes - Light, Dark and Eternity, while the “Nine Rings” stands for their sub-attributes - Sun, Moon, Sky, Wind, Shadow, Night, Land, Soil and Water.

“Light” and “Dark” are the general designations for multiple attributes. The two counter one another.
Every living creature is born of either the light or the dark attribute, and the inclination of their magical powers towards certain sub-attributes is subject to the differences in habitat and personal development. For example, for a mage who is born of the dark attribute where his powers lean towards the water attribute, he can be a water mage in the future if he takes on this path. Eternity:
An exceptionally rare magicae attribute of “Light” and “Dark” combined, which exists above the two’s opposition. It is acclaimed as the world’s power itself.
On top of the sum of all magic which “Light” and “Dark” entail, “Eternity” also covers temporal and spatial control magic.
As of now, there is nearly no one who possesses the magical powers of “Eternity”, even for non-human creatures where only very few harness such powers.

Mage and Magekas:
“Mage” and “Mageka” are titles given to males and females who are able to use magic. The population with magical powers is on the decline in present time, which collectively brings a drastic decrease to the number of mages and magekas in existence.
How do we define the magicae attribute of a mage or mageka?
If a mage or mageka stands out in the field of a particular sub-attribute, for example the water attribute, and has been substantially refining their powers on this basis, they will be referred to as a “Water Mage” or “Water Mageka”. And if their exceptional performance of magic is not limited to a specific sub-attribute, but that of all sub-attributes rooted from the same main attribute, they will be defined as mages and magekas of the corresponding super-attribute, and given titles such as the “Sky Mage”, the “Land Mageka” and the “Light Mageka”.

Sceptre:
Sceptre, as one of the key mediums for performing magic, is a tool which every mage and mageka must possess. Technically, the act of performing magic itself does not necessarily require a sceptre, but its presence does help stabilise the output of magical power, especially when exercising control over the casting of certain advanced magic which can potentially get out of hand. Nonetheless, destruction of sceptres is not lethal to mages and magekas.
Spectres are typically rod-shaped, but have developed into a variety of appearances through the passage of time. Rod-shaped spectres remain mainstream regardless.
Spectres can either be crafted by mages and magekas themselves, or left to the hands of experienced spectresmiths. Their appearances are not unique, but the owner of a certain spectre may become famous enough that his or her spectre’s design is commonly recognised by the public. In such cases, their sceptres serve as a way to distinguish a mage or a mageka other than their nicknames. The presence of another spectre of the exact same design will then be highly unlikely.
There is no restriction to how many sceptres a mage or mageka can own. Most of them hold onto their one and only sceptre throughout their lives, while others choose to own multiple sceptres simultaneously.915Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡqIj5pnCDxW
Grimoire:
Grimoires are ancient publications which document the magic of different magicae attributes, including their spells and knowledge. They can also be used to summon magical beasts, and even mythical beasts. Mages and magekas are accustomed to crafting their own grimoires either by using their personal magical spells, or putting spells required to summon phantom beasts in a book made of special material. Magical power, however, is still required to fuel the spells written.
Usually, only mages or magekas who wish to document the vast amount of magic they have created, and summoners who have made contractual exchanges with an extensive number of magical and phantom beasts craft their own grimoire.915Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡpyTj9U0woV
Among the sea of grimoires, there are twelve known as the “Ancient Grimoires”. What makes them different from average grimoires is their preservation of magic from all eras, where some are already lost to the world. These twelve grimoires each have their own persona: The grimoires of the “Nine Rings” can only provide simple responses to their master’s questions as they do not have a full-grown persona; on the other hand, those of the “Three Pillars” carry complete personas and carry individual personalities and memories., which allow them to converse with their master and other people like a human. Nonetheless, they cannot present themselves in human form. The grimoire “Poesia di Eternita” is only capable of doing so because Sakura made it possible through performing restoration work and making improvements to facilitate communication.
The “Novemstella Grimoire” is the collection of grimoires which each documents a magicae attribute from the “Nine Rings”, whereas the “Triangrimoire” corresponds to those containing information on the “Three Pillars”. As the “Triangrimoire” has long been under a magical seal, it is also known as “The Sealed Triangrimoire”. The identities of their creators remain unknown, while the most popular theory is that they were self-written by their own personas.

Perception on Magic:
The world itself is the source of magic. If the laws of science, causality and all that exists originates from God, then magic can also be said to be derived from God.
Magical powers are inborn to all lives, and it is the proof of each of their connections to the world. This also implies that there is no living being with absolutely zero magical power, for a level of possession as low as 0.00000001 still counts. Regardless, not everyone is qualified to be a mage or a mageka - only those whose powers reach a certain level are eligible for the job.
All beings are born either of the light or the dark attribute, which stays permanent. However, one could master a particular attribute’s magic given sufficient training over time.
