"You cannot become a hero."
"I'm sorry Izuku...I'm sorry"
"You're just a quirkless loser!"
The words ran around in Izuku's head.
"Quirkless..."
"Sorry..."
"Cannot..."
To Izuku Midoriya, those seemed to be key terms. Words telling him he can't do the one thing he'd longed for all his life. To become a fearless hero. But instead, those dreams had been shattered in mere moments by the one he idolized most. That particular one had felt like a punch in the guts. Maybe if he had just rephrased his question...-No. He was done fantasizing now. He knew it would only bring pain to think of everything he could've done right to help his situation.
"Midoriya!..."
The call started off faint, for Izuku was still stuck in his own little world.
"Midoriya!"
The holler became louder.
"IZUKU MIDORIYA!!"
His head snapped up in confusion. "U-um...present?"
The class echoed with laughter.
His teachers eyebrows angled down in annoyance. "Question 3?" He pointed to a numerical equation on the black board.
Izuku sighed and mumbled the answer, barely loud enough for the teacher to hear. This was a hassle, he already knew he was probably the smartest person in the class. No one could even guess what he would pay to get out of this low life middle school. Finally the long awaited school bell rang through the halls, and like clock-work all the students gathered their things and excitedly staggered out of the classroom. He stood up slowly and packed his items into his pack, hoisting it up on his shoulders. Thankfully Kacchan had already left, because Izuku definitely couldn't put up with his crap today.
"Midoriya."
Izuku turned to face his teacher. He was leaning on the front his large desk with a stony expression on his face.
"We need to talk about your behavior. I cannot tolerate you're negligent actions."
There it was again, telling him what he couldn't do. Cannot...he hated that word.
"Especially because of your....impairment."
Impairment? He made it sound like he was a cripple of sorts. Although then again, most people in this world would think being without a quirk was a disability.
The teacher continued lecturing him, "You need to pay more attention so you can at least get a decent job in the future. You know as well as I that trying to become a hero is hopeless in your case."
Izuku grinded his teeth together and forced a nod. If this dumb teacher kept going on with this stupid spiel of his, Izuku swore he was going to scream.
"Now, as long as you pay more attention in class, you are dismissed."
He bobbed his head curtly and repositioned his backpack on his shoulders as he fast-walked out of the room, hopefully leaving the conversation behind forever. In Izuku's mind, this was the end for him. The end of his dreams, the end of his most wanted desire, and most importantly, the end of his far away future. But he still hadn't grasped the concept that this...
