"Now this is probably the most important test of your life." Stated Mrs Jurns to a room full of twelve year old boys.
"Not only does this narrow down your carrier paths, " She continued, " but it also determines the type of people you will be living the rest of your life with."
Yeah, no pressure, I thought. This is just the rest of my life were talking about here.
Mrs Jurns pressed a button on her desk. All of our desks instantly light up.
"To avoid swiping back and forth between the test booklet, and the answer sheet, I would recommend you print out the booklet."
Good idea, I thought. I dragged my booklet into the print bin.
Instantly a piece of paper feel into my lap.
Hmm they must have upgraded the printer. It used to take half a second. I wonder why the school felt like it needed an upgrade. What model are they using anyway? Um why is the teacher looking at me that way?
"Tyler, I asked you a question."
"Um could you repeat it?" I asked.
The class giggled, but instantly choked when Mrs burns gave them the evil eye.
"Yes" she said. "I asked if you were ok. You look a little put off."
"Yes, I'm ok."
Why would she ask that? Do I really look that way. Why are all my classmates looking at me? You know what, that's not my problem I'm just going to take this test.
I looked down at my paper.
[Question 1: I enjoy planning things before I do them.]
Planning? Pfft No.
False
[Question 3: I often find myself lost in thought.]
What do you mean lost in thought. I'm having thoughts, but I'm defiantly not lost. Oh wait, what about that time where I paid no attention when the teacher talked to me. It's not like I was ignoring her. I was just thinking of something else. So I guess I do get lost in thought.
True
The test went on very much like this.
Finally the results came.
ESFJ.
"People who share the ESFJ personality type are, for lack of a better word, popular – which makes sense, given that it is also a very common personality type, making up twelve percent of the population. In high school, ESFJs are the cheerleaders and the quarterbacks, setting the tone, taking the spotlight and leading their teams forward to victory and fame. Later in life, ESFJs continue to enjoy supporting their friends and loved ones, organizing social gatherings and doing their best to make sure everyone is happy."
Um... this didn't sound like me at all.
I thought back to the questions. Oh wait, I think the one I answered for 2 was actually question 3! Which means I probably messed up the whole test. I raised my hand.
"Yes Tyler?"
"I think I got my numbering wrong. Can I retake?"
"Yes, but you will have to wait a week."
"Ill have to live with the wrong group for a week."
"Yes, or you can live in the waiting room."
I've heard stories about the waiting room. It's designed to hold people in between societies for as cheap as possible. Meaning bad food, no air conditioning, and stone floors.
"No thank you." I said.
"Well, let me write you this retake slip, come back here in a week. In the meantime, try to learn something from a different personality type."
