Ring, ring, ring.... my alarm yelled. ring, ring, ring... it went again until I finally opened my eyes to swipe my phone screen to turn it off. I yawned and turned to my side, moving my long, golden blonde hair out of my face. We didn't get a break and classes started the next day after moving in. It was 6am as the sun was peaking through the dorm window. For a moment I had completely forgotten about sharing a room with someone else as I climbed down from the top bunk.
"Ugh, why did you put that damn alarm clock on?" Mason groaned, rolling over in his bed. His brown hair was all messed up and in his face as he cuddled with his pillow.
"Classes are starting in 2 hours and I need to get ready." I leaned down to get some clothes out from the suitcase since some of things were still inside.
I heard him roll around a few more times then he shut up, when I turned around with my clothes in my hands he was grinning at me.
"What?" I asked annoyed.
"Well this is a great way to start the first day of university, roommate." At first I didn't understand what he was referring to, until I followed his gaze down to my chest. I was wearing my nightgown and I took my bra off last night before going to bed. Let's just say my nightgown was a bit transparent.
I automatically covered my chest with the clothes I was supposed to wear and ran into the bathroom.
"What a great way the start the morning," I said to myself as I began getting ready. I took a shower, brushed my teeth and spent about an hour in the bathroom. It's not that I was dirty, I had cleaned up completely at home yesterday before coming here. I just wanted to distance myself as much as possible from Mason. I imagined being roommates with some nice girls with whom I'd hang out with since my only friends went to different universities. Being roommates is like the key to meeting your first friends in this place full of strangers but now things were worse since I was stuck with him for the rest of the year. I just hoped I'd make some friends during the classes.
I had been curling my hair for about 40 minutes already when I heard a knock on the bathroom door.

"Hey! Stop hogging the bathroom, finish up in there." It was Mason and I was glad that he hadn't bothered me up until now. I finished up and left the bathroom. I looked into his eyes and glared at him at the moment of exchange when I came out and he went in but he just continued grinning.
This guy made me seem like a pessimistic person when really I was happy most of the time. It was like hate at first sight for me.

I sighed happily as I exited the classroom of my last lesson of the day. Luckily I only had one class with Mason and he completely ignored me during the whole hour. He was only in my creative writing class and I loved writing hence my dream of being a famous writer. I just hoped he wouldn't ruin that for me.
My mind was full of thoughts on the way back to our dorm. I felt shivers up my spine just thinking about it. When I got there, it was empty. I felt relieved so I dressed in comfortable clothes before picking up my phone. I realized that I never called my parents yesterday to let them know how I was.
"Hello," my mom's hyper voice said across the line.
"Hey mom, it's Audrey."
"Hi darling, how are you doing over there? How was your first day? Have you made any new friends yet?" As always she showered me with questions.
"I'm fine, it just turns out that my roommate is a guy so it's been tough. Other than that it's been normal."
"A boy?" she asked and I bit my lip, thinking this would make her upset.
"Well I don't know what to say honey just be careful, if he dares to hurt your feelings just give us a call."
"Okay, I hope they can change my dorm soon."
"I'll have your father call them and see what we can do."

"Stay safe dear, you know what I mean. I don't want to become a grandmother at 40."
"Ok," I chuckled and hung up.
Well she took it better than I thought, but I can't believe she thought I'd be immature to get involved with guys while I was away from home.
