It was her day off, for once. With Naoko and Yumiya at school, Natarii didn't have to babysit anyone- much less go to work.
And she hated it.

She sighed. What could she do? It's not like she wanted the mandatory day off. Talk about a pain. Natarii looked at the clock on the stove. It was only 10 AM and she was already tired of sitting around.

"MOM, I'M HOME!"
It was Naoko. She was the spitting image of her father, blonde hair, gray eyes, lightly tanned skin- it was like looking into a mirror. Naoko got along perfectly with her father, but Natarii wasn't her favorite person in the world.

Mom didn't say anything when I said hi- she just stared at me for a second and looked away. Maybe she's mad that none of her kids have her pretty silver eyes. I want those eyes. Gray eyes are great, don't get me wrong, but Mom's eyes were so metallic and beautiful- I kinda want them to be mine, too- really, they would look better with Yumiya's dark, curly hair and pale skin.
Her hair was great, too. I'm glad I inherited the silver ends of her hair- except hers started with charcoal black and ended with a beautful silver, while mine is blonde. That's okay- I don't want to look too much like her.
Then Yumiya ran in, energetic as ever.
