I had never dreamed that I, Death personified, would find something to kneel before, but then I never imagined her. The way her eyes met mine, unafraid and filled with unholy power. I was instantly captured and nothing in any realm could keep me from kneeling before the true queen of death. She took my face in her hands, forcing me to rise. "Remind me," she whispered, her lips brushing against mine, "how I'm yours."

“Alright, alright. Just let me get a drink before I embarrass myself in front of you and the one other person in the bar.”  I say, looking towards him. Our eyes meet.  As I’m about to flag the only waiter over, who also happens to be the bartender, the bartender comes already towards me, with a fruity drink in his hand. Without a word, he sets the drink on our table and disappears behind the bar. I look at it and can only assume who sent this.

“You go ahead, actually,” I say, examining the drink in front of me. “I just need to hit the bar real fast.”
