Can we perfectly envision what you write? Can we see, feel, hear, taste, and smell everything going on? Can we get so perfectly in-tune with your writing it's like we're in the world itself?

In this challenge, your goal is to write a short story of any length incorporating all five of the senses. The catch is that the story cannotuse the names of the senses. You cannot put "I smelled/tasted/heard/etc.". You have to use descriptive detail to get across what the character is sensing. Below I have a small sampling:

"The birdsong in the air wafted to her ears, and the cool breeze of the day brushed her skin. On the horizon, the sun set, a dark afternoon blue turning vibrant with oranges and yellows and pinks and reds, painting the sky like an aurora beheld in the North. Roses, some red and some white, dotted the beautiful plains and around her feet, and their enchanting scent was enough to send someone into the most pleasant dream, one where chocolate was on her tongue and laughter was in her eyes."

Rules

-- Cannot use the words: taste, smell, touch, hear, see, or any past/future forms of those words. Synonyms are allowed.

-- Has to be a short story, meaning it has a beginning, middle, end. A plot. Any length accepted.

-- You are allowed to use my example, but you must expand upon it and create it into an actual story.

-- Keep it kid-friendly.

-- No poems allowed.

Everyone has a favorite song, a song that inspiresconfidence, inspireshope, inspiresjoy and sorrow and pain and laughing. Everyone has a favorite song that inspires something.

In this contest, I want you to express to me what the song makes you feel, what memories arise when you hear it, what it makes you think of, or anything else for that matter as long as it relates to yoursong. Don't just tell me though. Show it. Get creative. We are writers after all, aren't we?

[Controversial Subjects Explored. Please be respectful.]

We live in an age where offending is wrong. It is, certainly, but in my opinion so is such censorship.

We believe what we believe. That's a fact of life, and public opinion or what is generally considered "correct" should not dictate  such a thing. We shouldn't have to feel terrified of expressing opinions. They are, after all, what makes us human, and in my opinion, anyone who openly goes against the norm with such views (while still being respectful) is brave, far braver than those who conform.

This challenge is focused on one thing: expression of opinions, especially on controversial subjects. This is where writers can say something that people may not agree with for one reason or another. I want to encourage bravery and encourage voices to be heard.

- Eloquence and powerful word use.

- Expression of opinion.

**Like-count will also go under consideration.

Requirements:

Simply express in the way you know best, be it essay, poem, short story, quote, etc. All word lengths accepted.

If I catch you being disrespectful and blatantly rude to another contestant, you will be disqualified.

You can do more than one entry, but only one of those entries will win, if one is to be picked. Bot could be excellent, but it would be unfair to have all of your entries as the winners and not anyone else.

Sometimes fear prevents us from doing something. However, we often find something lurking just beyond the fear, sometimes good and sometimes bad.
